Cameras for Teen/tween

I am looking for a decent camera for both my young teen and my tween. Something easy to use, but takes great pictures. Hassle free, small in size, not too many buttons. I've always been a Cannon person, just because I got used to how the buttons are consistent from camera to camera.

Nothing too expensive so when my daughter leaves it hanging on the back of the bathroom door in a state park again, we aren't out all that much money. Thanks!

What can I do next?

The last camera we bought was a Canon Power Shot. It is still a great little camera. We've had it over 4 yrs. We did purchase an extra battery for it and I think overall it was less than $200. It is small and easily fits into pocket or purse.

However, since we've had our IPhones we use them most of the time because they take good pictures and videos.

Nikon CoolPix -- my daughter got it when she was 8 (now 11) and she takes very good care of it. It takes good pictures and it has held up well.

Canon Powershot or Nikon CoolPix. My SD and I have Powershots (we got hers for Christmas for less than $100) and my niece and SIL have CoolPix. My Powershot is about 4 yrs old, been through a lot, and is still taking good pictures and video.

ETA: That last bit made me laugh. I left mine at the maze at Luray Caverns and they found it and mailed it back to me. Sometimes they do come home again.

I would check Walmart and Target for clearance. They can have some pretty nice ones that take really good shots for pretty inexpensive.

Go to a camera store or Best Buy and ask them. We got our daughter hers when she was 6. It cost about $100 and she still uses it. It's a Nikon, because that's my prefernce, and works great. She now uses my old DSLR though and she is 9.
