Bra Shopping (Small Breasts)

Has anyone tried True & Co to buy bras? I detest bra shopping have been wanting to try it out. Just wondered if it has been successful for anyone else? I have small breasts and few stores carry my size. VS had only 2 bras for me to try, neither was a very good fit. I want bras appropriate for a 30-something, not some trendy bralet for teens. I have heard lots of women complain about finding bras for large breasts, but I seem to have just as much trouble on the other end of the spectrum. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you! I'll look for a good bra store near me, I guess. I've been fitted before, but since having and nursing babies I'm just not the same. :) I don't mind having someone help me, I just get so tired of finding nothing that fits well. I've tried Target, VS, Playtex, and a nursing store, back in the day. Time to up my game to the next level, it seems.

If you already know the proper way to fit a bra-with the band tight enough and parallel to floor-or even dipping down slightly in back, NOT riding up in back AT ALL, even small breasts wear normal cup sizes. I'm small too and broad around. For years I went around in larger band/smaller cup size bras that never fit me right.

It wasn't until a proper bra fitter showed me how to pull the band DOWN, tighten it A LOT and go with larger cup sizes for smoother look that I was like OH!!!! Also, even for very small breasts, you need a sturdy, wide, strong band (not a breezy little delicate one that slides around like most small sizes try to sell you) to keep it tight and pulled down. The band around your ribs is the main support of the bra, NOT the cups or straps.

Now I can find a bra in any large department store if I try a few on. I have very small breasts but usually wear a 34 C when I used to think I needed like a 38AA. Try to be fitted if you never have, and then the store you use won't matter so much. Many different brands make great bras, and they are always coming out with new ones, you just have to try them on.

It might be worth biting the bullet and spending an afternoon in Norstrom (or an official intimate store - not like Soma, but a place that carries many brands) to get your true fit and find a bra line and style that you like.

I'm a 34DD, and I struggled for awhile, also not liking VS. I found that Betsey Johnson bras fit me perfectly. Now I can just buy them on Amazon when I need to. I just order the same style over and over again, knowing what works for me.

I have the same problem, I recently started shopping in the girls/teen department with great luck- I don't know why I haven't tried that in the past. Not sure if I'm buying bralets or what but they fit and look good when I'm wearing a shirt. So much cheaper than the women's department too! Some are in crazy colors but no one see's that so I don't care. I've had good luck at the Hanes Playtex outlets.

I would suggest you try www.intimacy.com.

They have bras for every breast under the sun. I am convinced. They are pricey but worth every penny for a great looking and fitting bra.

I've never even heard of the company you mentioned but I will give them a look too. Good luck on finding a bra.

Do you have a Lady Grace in your area? They have so many options and trained staff to help you. I know you hate bra shopping but is that because you don't want one of these fitters around you, or because you can never find what you want? If you go to a store that ONLY does bras and get good help, once you find what you need you can always get more, either in a quick trip in and out, or even on line. Of course, if a store is very helpful, you probably want to show your gratitude by giving them your repeat business. They also give you coupons for special sales, send you discounts around your birthday, and so on. I find they are responsive to your feedback and really rely on repeat business.

I looked there, but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a bra. I usually go to Target and get the Barely There brand. Not too flashy most of the time, but work well enough for me.
