Hi Mommas, looking for recommendations for a 'what is happening to my body' type book for my sons. One just turned 10, the other will be 12 inext month. One with a Christian perspective would be nice but not necessary. Not really the whole birds and the bees story, because I don't think they are quite ready for that, but just body changes, hormones, what to expect, etc.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi K.~

I ordered a book from Sandi Queen when I was teaching my daughter about puberty and what to expect. Her website is www.queenhomeschool.com If you click on the link "God's plan for growing up" you can see the books. Also on Christianbook.com there are a lot of selections as well.

Good luck in your search. My son is 8 so I am right behind you on this!

Blessings!

Go to your local library and talk to the children's librarian. They have books that show the whole lists of books on just about an given topic. I did find this to be true in the OKC libraries but itty bitty small towns may not have the same resources, though it should be online where they can access them easily. This way you can go to the library and look at the books while the kids are at school and figure out which ones express what you want them to know.

Do you have a Berean Bookstore or any other christian bookstore in your area? I got our kids books about their bodies from there. They actually have them by age groups so you can start when they are like age 3. They are specifically written to be age appropriate but are a little pricey, I think $12 or $15 each. Maybe go to the store and get the author and names and then order off Amazon.com? Good luck!
