My little girl has had issues with BMs since I can remember when she started eating solids. I really try to stay up on what she eats and balance everything, but she's still having BM problems. I'm wondering if a nutritionist would be a good choice to consider.

What can I do next?

M W,
I suggest like one of the other mom's said calling a pediatric GI. I did that after 6 months of my son arching his back and not wanting to go poop. He was constipated and nothing I gave him help, prunes and all the other natural things.
The pediatric GI was wonderful, she did blood work and found out he was anemic and started him on MIRALAX, THANK GOD FOR HER! he now poops every day but I think it's best to ask a doctor about her problem and a nutritionist is good once you find out what's casuing her BM problem...
Best of Luck...

I would not be bad thing to try. She might be intorleate to something that she is eating. for my frind it was milk. You might also want to try giving her purnes for few days to see if that helps.

What kind of problems? Different problems have different causes. Also, it is very hard to figure out what is happening if you're not a physician. For example, our son was having super runny poops. Sounds like the runs, right? We took him to a pediatric GI, and it turns out that he was constipated. His system was plugged up, and only super liquidy stuff could make it around the more solid stuff and come out. I think nutritionists are wonderful, but for digestive problems I think your best bet is the pediatrician and then a referral to a ped GI.

I went through the same thing with both of my kids. My son 13 & daughter 2-1/2 and it started shortly after birth. Finally, my sons doctor suggested I put 1-2 tbsp of DARK Karo syrup in every bottle (until his bm started moving) and then cut back to bout 3 bottles a day. It sounds crazy but it WORKED!!! He went from no bm for several days upto almost a week to omg atleast 2 a day. With my daughter I had to experiment with the amount in each bottle because she had other stomach issues going on but it got her regular in no time.
