Hi...the string on my cellular shade broke. Are there people that fix those? If so, any recommendations. They are so expensive and I hate to buy brand new shades. I also have one that only half will rise. I need to get both fixed.
Yes, they can be repaired. It's not inexpensive, but it's less expensive than repairing. CHeck the phone book for stores that sell blinds. Call them to ask if they repair them and if not, ask for a recommendation. Usually, they know the local repair people. If you're in the orland Park area, Anderson blinds on 94th avenue is a great resource. They're repaired a few of ours. Good luck.
I had that happen many times to my Hunter Douglas ones. They sent me a rethreading kit for free and I've done it myself. Just call mfr. or the place where you bought them. With care, yours will last - mine are 16 years old! Need new ones now.....

I don't know how far she travels and I don't know where you are so I don't know if this is a good recommendation or not. But her customer service is top notch!

Ask at the place you bought the shade or contact the manufacturer of the shade. Most high end ones have a warranty and will give you info so you can ship it to them and they can fix it!
