I have been to the Kids Table (I see some other mom's suggested it) and just loved it! Also, there's a restaurant in Navy Pier that works in conjunction with the children's museum there for birthday parties. The kids make their own pizza party and then play at the museum. http://www.eatatcapis.com/pizzaparties.php

Check out Whole Foods. We went to a party in the Deerfield location, and the kids made their own pizzas, and, I think, their own cookies.

They are located on North Avenue near Western, and I pass by all the time. Never been inside, but I've seen many a party happening there and it looks really cute.
Good luck!

There are two places that I know of...Young Chefs Academy in Glenview (great staff and healthy choices) or Whole Foods in Northbrook (was surprised at the quality of party they host!!).

You could also do Make a Messterpiece in Glenview that has a kitchen experimentation station. And in the city, I think that there's that one location on Belmont that does kid cooking - can't recall its name, but its in Roscoe Village on Belmont....

If you live in Chicago , there is a place in Lincoln Square that has cooking parties for adults and children. I dont know the name of the place. You can have your own cooking party at home. Get bobolie individual pizza crusts, or english muffins and get all kinds of toppings for pizza! Have each child " design their own pizza" Or a pasta party: boil noodles and have kids try different sauces, cheeses, veggies, pre-made meatballs. Or even have kids decorate their own cupcakes with sprinkles, frosting from easy squeeze tubes. Kids will eat their own creations! My daughter loved these themes as a child, hope yours does too.

There is a new kids party theme place called "Spotlight on 3" located at 2245 West Irving Park Rd, Fl-3, Chicago, IL 60618. It's in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago, You can contact them at ###-###-####. Ask for Ray or Mary Lou. You can also check out their website at www.SpotlightOn3.com.

They have Pizza Parties where kids can make their own pizzas complete with an apron....and I think a chef's hat. Not sure about that one though. I actually booked this theme for my daughter who is turning 7 in June! 15 of her friends will be making pizzas...and I am going to bring in cupcakes for all of them to decorate while the pizzas are cooking. It will be a BLAST for her!! The great thing about SLO3 is that it is also a photography studio so the kids get the opportunity to pose for a group shot and that picture is given to the parents at the end of the party as part of the package. You are also welcome to put together your own party favor bag if you want to.

Good luck! Have fun!

Check out the online Birthday Party Guide at www.kidwinks.com. Here's a direct link to it: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/6/KidsBirthdayPartyPlaces.... There are over 150 places on here for kids' birthday parties and many have reviews from other moms. I know there are several for cooking. If you become a member of kidwinks, which is free, you can sort this list by distance from your house - a nice, easy way to find out what's closest to you. The search function is not great on kidwinks, so you'll have to read through descriptions to find all of the places that specifically offer cooking parties. I think some of the park districts offer them. In addition to those already mentioned from other mamasourcers, there's:
The Chopping Block: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/6/KidsClassesSummerCampsT...,
Cucina Della Rosa: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/6/CookingClassesForKids/4...
All On the Road: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/6/AllOntheRoadCateringSer...
The Kids Table: http://www.kidwinks.com/ForKids/6/TheKidsTableClassesPart...

Hope this helps!
