Have you tried the Nuva Ring? It has a good record of no side effects with everyone I know that used them.
Hi all -
background info: Been having more abnormal periods since my daughter was born (8 months) and got the doc involved about 2 months ago. they did a couple of sonos and found a thickening uterine lining.
Anyways
Nurse called today suggesting I go on birth control for a few months. I *hate* this idea and told her the same thing. last time I was on birth control I couldn't find one with side effects I could tolerate. I had weight gain/mood swings/really long periods (30 days), etc. My husband got so tired of seeing me constantly go through that he threw them away and said I was done. She told me she would talk to the doctor again and call me tomorrow with her advice.. but what I am curious on - if they tell me that birth control is my only option for now - what ones work well for you? I know/understand everyone has different side effects I'im just curious on what's out there now.. been a while since i've been on it. Thanks :)
Thanks guys.. She actually called me back here a bit ago. She said doc still wants me on BCP and is going to call me in a scrip for them tomorrow. she told the doc what i said and the doc wanted me to know that this was a 3 month trial.. with another sono in 6 weeks for a check. She said after 3 months I can stop and see where things are. Let's hope!

I had the same issue and had to have a few D&Cs done...now, I'm back to semi-normal
I really loved my progesterone only pills (mini pills) Mine was Camila and Nora -BE. Just as effective as Orthro TriCyclen without the weight gain.
I use to have terrible issues with BCP's but after my third Child I had Mirana put in I had terrible cramping with that even after it ended up falling out. I would have such awful cramps it was like I was in labor. I would have to call out of work because the cramps would cause vomitting and diahreia. The doctor put me back on BCP's and after about 4 months it stopped and I was able to stop taking the pills and now I am back to normal. It may just be a tempory thing to regulate you and then you can stop once your cycle is back to normal.
