I just finished taking my 2nd pack of birthcontrol, oral pills. I noticed that my period this month is so light it is spotting. I did forget to take a pill a few times this pack, but I remebered within 12 hours and I don't believe we were active when I missed those two pills. just wondering if it is normal. I do not mind the light cycle, but just idn't know what to expect.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

It is completely normal. BC pills DO NOT work by causing abortions, that is absolutely ridiculous!!! In fact, you do not ovulate when taking the pill, that is why it is unnecessary to have a monthly period when taking the pill, and why some pills offer ways to have less periods each year. Most woman will experience lighter periods with less cramping when on the pill, that is why they often give it to woman who have problems with heavy bleeding or cramping even when they are not sexually active.

Yes, that is very normal! I had heavy periods and took the pill just to lighten it. I know some pills can almost stop bleeding depending on the level. There is nothing to worry about here!

My daughter became pregnant twice because she wasn't consistent in taking her bc pills. When you take it 12 hours late you are increasing your chances of becoming pregnant. To be safe you have to take them close to the same time everyday. Use an alternative method of birth control for the rest of the month even if you've just been late taking one pill if it's important for you to not get pregnant. My daughter has switched to an IUD because as she says, she's just too fertile to rely on the pill.

I took bc pills to lighten my periods. So this is normal.
