Better Fitting Bra!!!

Since I've had my three children, the girls aren't exactly where they used to be (if you know what I'm saying). I've tried several different bras but none seem to offer the support/coverage that I need. My next route is to try the old lady bras that seem huge and look similar to a straight-jacket, but even then I'm not sure what would work best. I'm a 36 D so I'm not overly large, but I'm still having sagging issues and "popping out" problems for lack of a better way to put it! I have been fitted so I know I am in my correct size; I think it may be the STYLE or TYPE that is the problem! Any of you had this problem and found a bra that worked? Thanks so much!

Hi! I've had bra fitting issues too. My friend recommended going to Nordstrom's for a fitting. I did and it was great. Good bras aren't cheap anywhere you go, I think mine were $40 each. I got two, nude colored ones. You wear them EVERYDAY, so $40 a bra goes far! The people in the lingerie department were kind and accomodating and super informed on the styles available, etc. I went to Nordstrom in Perimeter Mall and will be going back soon for another. Good luck!

I get mine from a place called Breakout Bra's in Greenville but they have a web site too. They would advise you on the best supportive ones. If you want to know what kind I actually got there I can look when I take it off later but they sell very quality bras that uplift me!! They last too! I have been wearing mine for two years and it hasn't worn out yet! I am similar size to you and have nursed 11 so you can just imagine...not that you want to!! LOL

I'd be willing to bet that you aren't a 36D. Most women have the band size too big and the cup size too small. I spent most of my life wearing a 36C. When I got fitted for a bra (Breakout Bras in Greenville rocks!), I found out that I'm a 36DD. Like others have said, it's a life changing experience. Now my girls are high and perky again and not coming out of my bra.

I don't recommend Victoria Secret or any chain type place for fittings. Those ladies aren't really trained except with the measuring tape. Go to a specialty store and plan to spend some time trying on different bras in your real size. A good fitting bra is a miracle worker!

Hi, H. w I've been there, so I know what you are going through. First and foremost, it's a good idea to get a professional fitting to determine your proper size and to determine wether you are a full, or average. - I'm a volumptous full. I've found that playtex manufactures a variety of great bras that give you suffient coverage and support. The store - TORRID - offers great bras as well. I also read this article that showed natural ways to get your breast back in shape and it's been working for me as well - http://hubpages.com/hub/Sagging-Breast-The-Secret-To-Gett...

Hello! I highly recommend wacoal bras. You mentioned u had been fitted but let someone at nordstrom (perimeter) or intimacy (phipps) fit you. The bras are $$ but once you know the best style you can find them online or on sale for around what you would pay full price for cheaper bras. (30). The bras are excellent, my friends used to ask if I had gotten a boob job! Also make sure the middle section of the bra between the girls is flat on your chest. That is a sign of a good fit. Also a lot of women really don't want to buy a DD or larger but often a lot of 36 cs fit much better in a 34d, etc. Good luck!

I can relate to everything you are saying about the sagging and the popping out. You should be looking for a "demi-cup". This type of cup is cut straight across rather than in a v shape. I think you'll find that you pop out less in this style. At least that's been my experience. Anyone in the bra department should be able to help you pick out a demi-cup. Good luck!

I went from a 30 C to a 30 DD while pregnant. I wish I had a few good bras then, I didn't even have good/convenient nursing bras or sports bras. After just 10 weeks of breast feeding I went down to a 30 B. For my birthday I asked for a bra fitting at an actual bra shop. I had been buying bras in regular department stores and VS for years and as you know those places do not taylor fit you.... and they only come in a size 32, so all of my bras were too big and fitting wrong. I went to Necessities by Sherrie in Snellville. I also had issues with cup fit, mine tend to drop to the bottom leaving nothing at the top... no cleavage here. They were able to find the correct cup and taylor my bra strap from a 32 to a 30. The bras I purchased were reasonably priced at $40. I ended up going back a few months later for a few "sexier" and different colored bras and they were $50-60. Not much more than you would spend at VS. Not to mention they were able to find me a few with padding that gave me a little, although fake, pre-baby cleavage:)

I have had great success with Vassarette bras, the full coverage style, and I'm a 36DD. They are sold at Walmart for about $15. They are so much better than a similar Victoria's Secret bra I bought at about the same time for $40!

I felt exactly the same after having my two kids. I strongly recommend going to Intimacy at Phipps Plaza to get a proper fitting and bra recs (they have been featured on Oprah several times). The fitters there are great - they just look at you in your current bra and know exactly what size to get you and pull several different styles for you to find the one that works best for you. I'm really happy I decided to try them - I feel much more comfortable in my bras now. Hope this helps!

H.,

I had the same problem and got so frustrated I even went out and got them "done". Nothing major just filled what left. But even with the "job" it didn't really fix anything. In fact I now wish I didn't get them "done".

I have spent hundreds on dollars on Victoria's Secret bra's but yet they aren't the best fit. But one day I found myself at Kmart and bought a tshirt material bra....and it's been the best!!!! I'm a 36C and I have good support without the grandma look.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm gonna "pop out" because I've had kids, breastfed them and heck...I'm a woman! But one thing that I did hear from other women is putting surgical cloth tape on the them so they don't "pop" as much, maybe it's something you can try? It's the cloth tape they use on IV's and such.

Hope somthing works out! Good Luck!

You should get fitted at Intimacy or LiviRae's. These ladies know how to properly fit a bra! You are not in the right fitting bra or you wouldn't be having this trouble. And I'll be honest, when I finally understood the imperativeness of having really good bras, it was like I'd had a really good boob job. It was life changing good! It's expensive, but sooooo worth it.
Hope this helps!

H., I know the feeling. I read in the paper, I believe it was Saturday or Sunday Dillard's is having a bra fitting event this week. You may want to take advantage of that. I have been wearing the wrong size bra for a very long time and had been having the same problem that you are having. Also, a couple of the underwear stores out at the outlet offer that service as well.
