Thank you so much everyone! I think I'll stick with the traditional spelling and go with Caden Michael. I think it goes well with the rest of his siblings ~ Jacob Tyler, Alexander James and Isabella Marie! Not to mention parents with the names Michael and J.!

I like Caden, which is the correct/traditional/original spelling. Personally, I hate non-traditional spellings. Sorry to anyone who is a fan of them, that's just my opinion. Alternate spellings look feminine to me (I know it's a unisex name, but Caden seems more boyish to me).

just me personally, i think the "ai" and the "y" in "Kaiden" and "Kayden" or "Cayden" make it more feminine. i think a more masculine way of spelling it would be Caden or Kaden. silly maybe but that's what it makes me think of...

Caden. It's a Welsh name that means "spirit of battle" and Caden is the traditional Welsh spelling. Kaiden is only a phonetic version, not the historic name. There are other variations in other languages (Jaden or Eaden in Hebrew, Paden in Scotland) . Caden is still unusual enough that it's not plain-vanilla but it's spelled like it sounds, and in writing appears just fine. Frankly, kids with very unusually spelled names spend the rest of their lives having to spell their names for people -- I've seen it with friends my age and with my daughter's friends who have very unusual spellings. Caden is a great name (I know one Caden, spelled like that) but I think Kaiden would mean years of spelling it for everyone, all the time.

I'm not really sure how Caden should be spelled, but I say go with the standard spelling. I hate to see kids stuck with a common name that the parents tried to be "unique" and so the parents spelled it as if they were totally illerate.
I've met several grownups that actually changed their name because the parents either gave them goofy names or spelled them so bad the kids were having to respell them all the time.
Make your kid's life better and use the standard spelling and a traditional name.
Good luck to you and yours.

If you MUST use Caden, then please spell it Caden. Just curious - why do you like the name Caden? It is so trendy and there are SO many Caden/Brayden/Jaden's out there. The name has no character or originality. There are so many great names out there, why do you want to jump on the baby name trend bandwagon?

Although I like the name Caden (and that spelling), you should be warned that it's a VERY popular name, along with all the other -den names. My daughter's kindergarden class had 8 boys in it, including Caden, Jayden, Hayden, Aiden and Braden. I'm not kidding.

Kayden is the easiest for people to pronounce, but Caden is good too. Kaiden looks like a girls's name to me.

Same as others, I don't like changing traditional spellings. I like Caden. The y some are using makes it more feminine to me. Congrats!

IMO, I see the letter K as feminine...maybe because my name starts with a K? :) We named our daughter Mikah--traditionally a boys name, but spelled it with a K instead of a C because it seemed more feminine. My nephew is Caden, and that is my favorite spelling, and seems more masculine to me. Great choice of names by the way; my dads name is Michael :) Congrats too!

I have never heard of Caden or Kaiden. At first i thought you were having a girl. The more masculine of the two would be Caden, IMO.
Maybe i am thinking Cadence (sp?) and that is why i think girl...

I like it Caden. My nephew is Kaden. I do not like Kaiden. I want to put a 3rd syllable in there Kay-eye-den. Don't like that one at all. It confuses me.

Caden or Kaden. Kaiden and Kayden or any other form is usually the feminine version from what I have seen.

Caden seems correct to me, but I have seen it Kaiden - I think Kaiden would be a "female" version of the fairly unisex name, personal opinion.

I love the name Kaden. It's my 10 month old grandson's name. It's also my boss's grandson's name. My daughter works with a woman whose son is also Kaden.
My daughter loves the name, but secretly wishes she had chosen something else just because she thought she was being unique and found out the hard way that a lot of other people had the same idea.
That said, Caden Michael is a lovely name and I haven't seen it spelled with a C.
Best wishes to you!!
