Hello all,

I am looking for a good toddler vitamin that my son who is 2 years old will take, any suggestions?
I have shopped around but it seems there are so many. We tried some that were "chewable" but they were soo hard that he didnt want to chew them and crushing them in yogurt only went so far cause he figured it out what we were doing and then refused! Lol.
Help!

What can I do next?

I second the Animal Parade suggestion! We also buy ours at Vitacost.com. I am very picky about children's vitamins and I am very pleased with Animal Parade. They are yummy too!

I second the gummies! My 2 1/2 and 9 year old both take them, they are pretty much the consistency of fruit snacks. We buy the Disney Cars ones that have DHA and the extra vitamin D. My 2 1/2 year old asks for his "bitamins" every night :)

It is hard to find toddler/kids vitamins that don't have lead, lots of sugar and other undesirables in them. I know the store bought brands are horrible as they are usually made in the laboratory (fake ingredients) and your body has a hard time assimilating fake vitamins. Also, The FDA did tests on women's and children's vitamins and found lead in a lot of the popular and unpopular ones. Unfortunately they only tested about 1/3 of them and I think 99% or more had lead in them. Lead accumulates in the body. It isn't quite a bad as letting your child eat lead paint but it still has the same effects.

There are ones out there that are good. Do a lot of due diligence and email the companies and ask if they test for toxins in the raw materials and if they check the manufacturing process and if they heat process or cold process their vitamins. Also, if they have studies on THEIR products to prove they work. Nothing irritates me more than flushing my hard earned money down the toilet.

I am sure there might be others but I do know for a fact that Shaklee checks for toxins in the raw materials, has no lead in their vitamins, cold processes the products and is made pharmaceutical grade. And has studies galore on each one of their products.

Shaklee has powered mutlivitamin and mineral powder that I think if you put in milk, applesauce, etc they can't really taste it.

Then when they get around 3 1/2 or 4 you start them on Incredivites and Mighty Smarts (this has DHA in it and helps early brain development). Both of these are chewable.

Shaklee's are comparable in price to the health food store or other non-store brands especially if you figure out what the store brands have in them then you look at Shaklee's.

If you are interested at all you can check it out on www.nutritionandhealthnow.com.

There are other goods one I am sure. Unfortunately in the ones that I have checked out only Shaklee is the best. But I will tell you that I haven't checked out all of them.

Good luck in finding one that doesn't cause your child harm and that he likes.

Costco Gummivites all the way. We do all three, the Gummivites, calcium gummy bears and fish oil gummies.
