My three year old son suffers from severe constipation. This has been an ongoing battle and we are currently seeing a pediatric GI specialist. However, he is currently on a high fiber diet and the specialist said to continue using probiotics. (He has been taking probiotics since he was an infant and it has always benefited him grealty. My question is, in your opinion what is the beat children's Probiotic and why? I am specifically looking for one that has a strain in it that helps with constipation, but just an overall good Probiotic will work too. Thank you!

My daughter's doctor recommended a product called BioGaia. It's actually made specifically for children and is a fantastic product. If can be expensive and hard to find but it is formulated just for kids. I was giving it to prevent constipation because of a different problem my daughter was having but it did the job. It can be hard to find but can easily be ordered online.
Children's Florastor. It's a powder you put in their juice. You can find it behind the counter at any pharmacy. It's not a prescription, but you have to ask for them to get it. It's about $15-20 for about 10 packets (about)... My son's gastroenterologist recommended it~
I don't know that there is any 'best'. But my ped recommended Culturelle, and it worked well for us.
What Probiotic did you try as an infant? My 7month old suffers from constipation too
