I'm all done with nursing bras and could use a new bra that works well under t-shirts. What's your favorite?
ETA: I am very small up top. Think preteen girl size but nursed three babies placement. 😉 I really do need to go get measured to find my true size. Thanks for the responses so far. I'm open to as many opinions as you ladies want to give.
i've done the opposite from most and gone almost entirely over to cheap wonderful comfortable fruit of the loom sports bras. i do have a couple of 'good' bras for gussied-up days, but the for most part i love the support, ease, comfort and seamlessly smooth look of my fruities.

The best thing you can do right now is go get fitted professionally and then buy the bra you love.
I prefer Nordstroms and Neimans for fittings and they have good bra selections. My favorite brand is Wacoal. I don't like lined, seamed, padded bras. I like something that is a good foundation but feels like I am wearing nothing. I'm 34dd natural.
Dillard's has good fitters as well. Steer away from Victoria's Secret. You can get a good sexy functional bra elsewhere that's much better quality.

I've found that I love lightly lined bras from Target. They have some nice ones that are inexpensive - which also means I can replace them without guilt when they start to lose support. And they fit me better than more expensive Victorias Secret bras which seem focused on making you look like you have more instead of supporting what you've got.

I don't think the t-shirt is the question. You need to find a bra that fits you well and makes you feel confident and secure.
I hate bra shopping. Hate it!!! But recently I finally bit the bullet, went to a good store and really took the time to ask questions and try on a few bras. I only bought one because it was more expensive than bras I had purchased in the past and I wanted to make sure I liked it first. Now that I know I like it I'll probably buy one or twon more.
Spend the time trying on a few things. It's completely worth it!
Yeah, that really depends on a few factors. And in my opinion, regular, crew-neck T-shirts look good on nobody. A nice scoop or V or boat neck can be flattering though.

I wear a 32D. I like the Very Sexy and Body by Victoria bras. I personally can't do a demi or...my cups jiggleth and runneth over.
I think your best bet is to wear one of your shirts to VS or Macy's or wherever you'd like to shop and go try on a bunch of bras with your shirt over them. Then you'll know for sure. :-)
I like Bali but sometimes Maidenform has come through for me. Right now my best is one I got at Target. It is Maidenform but has another word in there since it is at Target I guess. Anyway, I have to agree that it all depends on your body shape. I have found that for me, if it says t-shirt bra, it is not. I wear my thinnest t-shirt and try in a bunch of bras and see if I get the result I want.

Rigid, lined cups.
I like Bali. They have a lined (very thinly padded) bra where the edge lays smoothly on your skin so you don't get that bump along the edge of the cup that screams "here is my bra cup!" under your t-shirt. I get them on sale at Kohl's.
It will depend entirely on your size. I'm a 32DDDD and can't buy any of the cheaper brands you'd find at say Kohl's or Victoria's Secret. I do love Chantelle bras in lightly lined styles under T-shirts. However, they're pricey, in the $60-90 range.
You know what? When I go to the store I take in a bunch of bras in different sizes.
No matter what you measure each style of bra will fit you different and it will look and feel different. Every person that sews a bra in the factory will even sew it differently than the person sitting next to them.
So trying on bras is really the only way to find what works. Even buying the same brand but a different style will fit oddly. You can't begin to see it until you try on a bunch.
I often take 15 - 20 bras into the dressing room with me and rule out the ones that just feel awful.
I'm a 36G (as in 4Ds and all natural no enhancements) so I am stuck in higher end bras. My most favorite though is the Chantelle Intimates 'C Magnifique' Underwire Bra.
The most important is to get ones with as few seams as possible especially on the cups and limit the lace on the cups as well.
