My husband had a problem with my snoring when I was pregnant. It would wake him up constantly. It always was when I'd sleep on my back. So, when it woke it him, he'd roll me on my side and the snoring would stop.
I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for snoring. I apparently snore more when I'm pregnant. I'm 4 months along and it doesn't help that I am at the point where my nose is stuffy all the time. Saline helps sometimes but not always. My poor husband is losing sleep and I feel terrible about. I have a cold now and that is only making it worse.

Something to look into may be the Neti pot-Dr. Oz talked about them on Oprah.it is a salt water rinse for your nose that helps with the congestion, I got a little stuffier before I got relief but my fiance said that he could tell a difference in the amount of snoring that I did. I also get a TON of sinus infections and it helps greatly by rinsing out dust and junk up in your sinuses. If you are interested in purchasing one you can find them at Wild Oats.. Whole Foods would probably have them too! Good Luck! :)
Hi T.. I had the same problem with 3 of my 4 pregnancies. Have you tried those Breathe Right strips? They really do work. They also make some vapor active ones now too to use when you're congested - it's worth a shot!
Try using breathe right strips. They don't have any medication in them so they are safe to use while pregnant and they really seem to help. Good luck!
Have you tried Breatheright strips? They work well for me, better than OTC medicine.
try breathe righ strips to keep he nasal passages open or hte new breathe right snore strips the keep the nasal passages moist all night since snoring is a sign your passages are dry!!good luck plus its all outside the body cept the trips and those are non toxic ... baby fine and proofed .. lol
Well it sounds like you have your plate full, which is probably contributing to the issue. You may have trouble digesting some foods, most likely dairy and/or wheat. You can be muscle tested to find out for sure. Try cutting them out and see if you don't breathe easier day and night, and have less colds. After a month of cleaning out by not eating them at all, most people can start eating them again, once every 4 days, without problems. You may need digestive enzymes too. Working in daycare you are exposed to alot, but it probably built up your immune system soon after you started. Promise yourself to get as much sleep as you possibly can! And of course I advise adjustments and massages. Best wishes. Dr. N. Goodman
There are some type of strips you get at the drug store to put on your nose. A friend of mine swears by them. I have heard others say they help also. Ask the pharmacist.
I hate to tell you this... but I think the only cure is delivery! Everything swells when you're pregnant including your nasal passage. My husband is a snorer, he's tried using a netti pot, and I swear that has helped the most. He's also tried those nose strips that are supposed to open your nose up so you can breathe better. I'm not sure how well they work, they seem to fall off in the middle of the night, but maybe you could try those. I think the best solution is for your husband to invest in some good ear plugs!
Try breathe right strips with menthol
Have you tried a humidifier? My OB recommended one for me because the air is so dry. Good luck.
Hi, I live in Kirkwood MO and my husband teases me about my snoring frequently, which was worse when I was pregnant.
I used saline as well, but it's a short term solution. I also used a WARM water vaporizer (the cold ones are less likely to cause mold but just keep it clean and don't aim it right at a wall and it will be fine). Warm water vaporizers are better than cold, and now you can get them at Target, Walgreens, even Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Sleep with your upper body elevated, if you can, with two pillows. This was hard for me but it's better to reduce snoring than lying more flat. Sleeping on your back increases snoring.
I also used to use a clean ear swab (Qtip) and dip it in vaseline and then jam it (gently) up my nose and swirl it around to increase the moisture...I felt this was longer lasting than saline.
Good luck! It's pretty much a chronic problem with pregnancy but hopefully you can reduce it a bit.
That same thing happened to me. I used those "breathe Right" strips on my nose and that seemed to help alot. Good Luck.
