Baby in Crib

They leave the baby in the crib from the time he falls asleep at 7:00 PM to Noon or 2:00 PM the next day. Won't this have an effect on him. They are in the room with him also usually sleeping or on the computer, but doesn't he need more time out of the crib?

It depends on his age if it is going to deter him from crawling, etc but no matter what the age, why is the child in the crib so long?? How do they feed it? Is the baby crying and wanting to get out b/c that can't be healthy for it either. I guess if they don't have a basinette, they can use the crib but that is only for the first 2-3 months. If the baby is at least 4 months old it would need practice on his tummy and holding his own head up. The baby needs to exercise more....if you are close to this family I would consider buying it an exersaucer or bouncer as a gift to get it out. If you are not close and you feel this is abusive...call the local DHS on them! Awful and lazy of those parents!

Not sure who they is? Wouldn't the baby need to eat in the morning? Yes, a baby definitely needs more time out of the crib, imo. But some people do things different I guess. Is the baby being changed and fed before noon? How do you know for sure the baby is in their crib til noon at least unless you are in the room everyday?

WOW.. that's terrible! Of course the baby needs "more time out of the crib"! A baby needs interaction and stimulation from his parents in order to learn that his needs will be met. When a baby does not experience regular interaction with a parent, he does not form bonds of attachment, which is essential for family development. An infant that is not attached to his parents will not look to them to meet her needs. He might also respond to frightening situations with ambivalence, such as separation from a parent, and he might have trouble expressing anger or negative emotions, resulting in out-of-control behavior. This to me sounds like a serious issue that needs to be addressed! Also, Who are they??
