avocados are so nutritionally complete, and its not just mostly good fats, its ALL good fats. No one ever got fat off of eating too many avocados!..............i mean, 1 a day is so perfect!, keep up the good work
I just discovered that a medium size avocado has 30 grams of fat. They're mostly good fats and avocados are super good for you and baby needs fat until age 2, etc. but.... THIRTY GRAMS. WOW. That seems like a lot. I've been giving my 1 year old a whole avocado as a snack at times but that seems like a large amount of fat to consume just for one midday snack. What do you think? Do you give your tots a whole avocado or just slices?

Whole thing... they have to coat the entire neural system from head to toe with myelin which is pure fat... and that doesn't finish until around age 5.
For myself I limit my fat intake... but not for small children. I for one, am not doubling my weight and half again my height every 6 months until I'm 2 NOR doing all the physical things that kids do.
Adults and children have totally different nutritional needs.
At this age, an avocado is one of the best sources of fat so if my daughter wants to eat the whole thing, I let her. For myself, I limit how much but I don;t worry how much good fat she is getting.
Don't worry about it... a kid needs that.
They use it up pretty well in their bodies and are growing exponentially... and as the others said, good "fats" are CRUCIAL for brain development and nerve development in a baby and child.
Avocados, are "whole" foods.... a meal in and of itself.
Don't just think of it as 1 thing... it is a whole meal.
Nothing else needed.
It is healthy.
It is not 'bad' fats.
As a kid, I used to eat avocados just like your child. I LOVED them. My Doc as a kid, would always tell my Mom how healthy I was and ate so well.... not junk. I had great skin/hair/growth too, which everyone commented on.
Its fine.

If your child is of normal weight -- don't worry about giving him a whole avocado. They are very healthy, and kids need fat. If he's unusually chubby, maybe 1/2 avocado.
Anyway, if you're going to worry about it, just give him half. That's plenty anyway.
Its a good fat, just limit the amount of processed foods and fats.
I usually would do 1/4-1/2 of the avocado and a small amount of fruit and a bit of low-sodium cheese or whole grain bread for snack time. But there were times when my daughter ate the whole thing! It all balances out over the course of a week so not a big deal every once in a while.
I do the same as the previous poster-I'd never eat the whole thing but a couple of slices on my sandwich is yummy and good for me!
Some fat is needed for brain development and growth. I wouldn't worry about the good fats in reasonable amounts. Some fat is also needed to lose weight. The way it was explained to me it goes something like this. By the time calories are stored in your fatty tissues, it's like a large log of wood. If you put a log in the fire place and threw a match on it - it's not going to burn. If you put kindling around it and then throw the match on, it will burn. Small amounts of healthy fats in your diet act as kindling to release the energy stored in your fat.
Maybe just give her half an avocado in slices and give her some veggies with it instead? I wouldn't be too worried about fat at her age though. If she still wants more after limiting her to half of an avocado then I say just let her have it! You're very blessed to have a child that is willing to eat such healthy food!
