At&t U-verse

We are thinking about switching from Direct TV to At&T U-Verse. Wondering if anyone uses AT&T U-Verse, and if so, how do you like it? Is it comparable to Comcast or Direct TV? It seems to be the same price if you figure in your regular phone line and internet connections. Does it have the same variety of channels for the kids... Disney, Sprout, Nick, Noggin. How does the DVR work, with ability to watch in any room. Sorry for all the questions, but we have not been pleased with Direct TV, and want to make sure we switch to something better.

What can I do next?

We have U-verse and we like it a lot. We had Comcast before and oh my, did we hate Comcast! As soon as we got U-verse in our area we switched. I love being able to record multiple things at once and being able to put on something in the living room for my daughter and then switch it to her playroom. The only things that are a bit bothersome are that, like someone else said, I can't delete DVRed shows except from the main box. Also the main box is the only one you can pause or rewind live TV. One other thing that should be said is that if I am recording 4 shows on the DVR I can't watch another channel. I either has to stop one of the recordings or watch something DVRed or watch one of the channels that is currently being recorded.
Other then that- I really like the quality and the quantity of channels that we get. We have the Family package and have all the kid channels- Disney, Nick, Nick2, Nicktoon, Noggin, Cartoon, Boomerang (which is our favorite- my daughter is all about the old cartoons), Discovery Kids, and Smile. The package we have doesn't include Sprout but we have a TON of free on Demand stuff that includes Sprout shows.

My friend has it & she loves it. She lives about 5 blocks from me so when I called to order it & get rid of comcast I was very surprised to hear that my home wasnt in their network site yet. So before you get your heart set on it see if you are in their network area.

We have it and love it. It has free stuff for the kids all the time. The DVR is essential for night time shows during getting ready for bed hour. The web-site is Uverse.com you can check the directory.

We love it.

I really like my AT&T U-verse. Depending on the package you get you get all the children's channel as well. I love that when I am in the middle of watching a program I can pause it until I put my son into bed and read him a book then continue watching the program.

There is one main DVR that you program channels from and then you can watch it in any other room. Another cool feature taht I enjoy is that when I am at work and I know there is a program on tonight that I want to watch, I can go to their website and record the program from my computer.

We LOVE our ATT U-verse! We got it a little over a year ago.
To answer your questions:

It is definitely comparable to Drect TV/Comcast (I have had both) and it does have all the variety of kids channels. Noggin, Nick, and Disney come to mind first since that's what my daughter watches the most of.

We have the main DVR downstairs and a box in our room too that is set up to the same connection (whatever we record downstairs we can watch upstairs w/o a problem) but we don't have the ability to delete from anything but the main box. But that has never been a problem for us--we just delete later.

This is something VERY small, but it is something I've noticed. Whenever we record some shows from FOX HD (like American Idol) onto our DVR, there is a 1-2 delay when we go to watch it back. It can get quite annoying, especially when it looks like they're all lip syncing!

But in the light of everything, we are very happy!!
