Are All Potty Seats Created Equal?

What is your favorite potty seat (for a girl, if that makes a difference), and why? I need a seat that is a seat on it's own, not one that fits into the regular toilet. The easier to keep clean, the better! lol. Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

I almost got the frog one, until I realized teh reason why she was so happy it was in the cart is because she thought it was a toy! Yikes...thank goodness I realized that and put it back! (although it was cute!)
I think mine is safety first, at walmart?

i think every kiddo is different. my son had a potty seat that he never showed ANY interest in. he trained on the grown up potty and we never looked back. just fyi, he was (is) a big boy for his age and very strong. i don't think all kids could support themselves on the big potty at first.

I went through two horrible ones (with lots of cracks and places for pee to hide) before I ponied up for the Baby Bjorn seat. It's about $27, but adjustable and fits on any toilet, and totally cleanable.

we got a new toilet seat that had a potty seat built into the lid. It has been lifechanging. We don't have to clean a gross potty chair and we dont have to worry about the potty seat tilting or doing anything weird. Our daughter likes having her "big girl" potty. I highly recommend it, we got ours at home depot.

I agree with adansmama. My oldest is a large child and used the regular toilet the potty chairs were too small for him. My youngest we got the simplest potty chair we could find at walmart. It's a green and blue frog I think fisher price makes it. He used it all the time he is tiny and still will sit on it to poop he is terrified to sit on the big toilet it's "too high"

I am with Sara B. We installed two of the toilet seats that flip down in our house. No transferring of poop from a potty chair to a toilet! Easy to clean and we have two boys ages 2 and 4 who create a lot of bathroom traffic so to speak.

Since you aren't looking for that, the best potty chair that is free-standing is the Baby Bjorn. It is so simple, easy to clean, and does not take up much space or play stupid songs or flushing sounds! Both of our boys trained on this.
