Apple Orthodontics

Anyone have experiences to share about Apple, especially the Colony office? I have gotten three consultations for braces for my daughter and they are by far the cheapest due to a contract they have with Aetna they say. They did say basically the same things the others said but stressed different things. They didn't even stress the "need" for braces while others did. She needs an appliance to help her bite and they stressed it is not 100% reliable. The others have said that but not stressed it. Also they seem to want to put the appliance later while the others start with it. They also talked about "pre-treating" teeth and sealing them so nothing gets under them. No one else talked about this. Anyway, I felt comfortable going with them I think but just don't know anything about braces and don't want to go with them just because they are cheap if they are not going to do a quality job. Any advice would be appreciated.

I work in the dental field. Please find a private practice orthodontist, not a clinic. Cheaper does not always mean better. My experience is Apple and Monarch APPEAR cheaper in the beginning, but they add on things along the way. Our patients who go to clinics do NOT end up with the same result as the ones who go to private practices. Ask your general dentist who they refer to. They'll know who does good work and who doesn't. Private practices can be in network with Aetna just as Apple is. Check Aetna's website or just call the ortho office and ask if they are in network with Aetna.

Both Apple & a private office gave me the same consultation results. Now, the private practive was slightly cheaper down payment & monthly payments. The Apple coupon does nothing when you do have insurance. The phase I was for an upper expander nothing to do with "braces" at both locations. The unfortunate result for us my son (9yr) is a gagger & we couldn't even get the molds done so we have decided to wait a couple of years to try again. OH, and what your insurance covers is lifetime, which I think is unfair. I

My youngest daughter is my 3rd daughter that has been to Apple and I have no complaints. Most offices have one Dr that I have experienced. I guess my only thing is that they are only open certain days of the week. They have never added anything along the way with any 3 of my girls, but it could depend on each child's mouth situation. One of my girls did have to have two teeth pulled before they put the braces on, but that was all that has had to be done prior to application. Maybe it's my kids, but I saw an almost immediate improvement. Good luck on your choice.

I have not used Apple but what I heard from others is that it's a "Jiffy Lube" for dental work. You may or may not get the same doctor therefore you will not get the same care. I would be very cautious and ask them for referrals if you are still considering them.
