I am trying this site out. Cafe mom seems so negative. More bashing then helping. More personal attacks rather than intelligent discussion. Biased reporting etc. I hope this is it for me! :) I like the idea of a mom site.
I tried Cafemom, but found it just as you described - very negative. Only visited the site a few times and never went back. There is some bashing here but really not that bad, a lot more supportive. Just please, don't ask if you're pregnant :)
I haven't been to CafeMom but I wanted to welcome you here! Majority of the time this is a loving, caring, helpful site. Sometimes tempers flare but what else can you expect from a group of women?! :) At the very least we all have a place to express our opinions and feelings. So make yourself at home and enjoy the lively circle we have here!
I didn't feel the community we have here. I feel like I can make a difference for others and they have been supportive of me.
Yay! Welcome to the nice side! I havent been on cafemom, but I heard it was worse than the Housewives of Jersey. Lots of great info and great people here. Hope you like it! Watch out, its addicting. :)
I used to go on cafemom but no one ever posted in any of the groups I was in, so it was boring and not helpful. Now I spend my time here and on citymommy.com
I know nothing about that other site but the Mom's on here are 95% supportive in my experience. I love it-Welcome!!
This is a great site. I once posted a question and got a really snarky and very unnecessary response from a mom. It was offensive to a lot of people. I asked the site if they would take it down and they did in minutes. From my experience on here that isn't the norm. Overall it's very helpful on here and the ladies give great advice.

Well, I haven't been on Cafe mom, but I used to spend some time on our local MomsLikeMe.com site. I left that site because the woman on there were so mean to each other. There is a group of about 9 woman on there that are friends on and off the site and use odd inside jokes and bash others. I really like mamasource. There seems to be a great group of ladies on here. Yes, there is the occasional nasty comment, but the good far outweigh the bad.
I was attacked for asking a simple breast feeding question. Yeah, I haven't looked back since. Don't get me wrong, there are some attacking posts here, but for the most part we are tame.
Yup! I left CafeMom....well it must have been two years ago. Just recently I started coming here, so far I like it!
i do cafemom in doses lol & only certain groups where its not all drama & bashing, there's a lot of women out there who are bored & get their kicks out of causing fake drama & i dont need that in my life lol
I left Parents.com for that reason.
We seem to have more intelligent conversations here, imo. :)

Over all this is a good site. You still come across the questions from the moms that think their way is the only right way and will get on their soap box about it and put down other moms for doing things or not doing things, but it is not that often. I have found a lot of helpful things on this site.
I was going to join Cafe Mom, but saw so many attack posts that I didn't bother. This site is quite a different format though as the conversations aren't threaded, but it's fine. Welcome! :)
