Hi Moms!

I've done some Winter cleaning and I have women's, childrens clothing, and some blankets to share for some shelters. I was wondering if any of you know of any women's shelter that is looking for donations? I would love to give them to a shelter that will put them into good use. Any of them near the 94580 area? Thank you to all in advance. Happy Holidays!

Alameda Midway Shelter

Call and leave a message to schedule a drop off if you want a tax receipt. Sometimes I just swing by and drop off at the gate.

I know that there is "Shelter Network" which, although not just for women, is geared towards families, many of which have young children, and almost all of which have women. Also, you can contact "Shalom Bayit" which is for battered women (also many whom have children). I don't have the contact info handy, but if you go on Google (or whatever search engine you prefer) I'm sure you can find them right away. They are both based on the Peninsula (I think Shelter Network's main location is Burlingame--maybe San Mateo). Shalom Bayit helps women all over the Bay area, but I think their main office is in the East Bay. If you just type their names and California, you'll probably be able to find them easily. Good luck!

I was also going to suggest the Davis Street Foundation in San Leandro. Our family always donates to them. They are a great foundation!

not sure what area code that is but there is a battered women's shelter in Livermore. Donations actually go to Shepard's gate thrift store on Railroad in Livermroe in the Dollar Tree shopping center across from the bowling alley.

Hi, Emergency Shelter Program in Hayward may be reaached at ###-###-####. They will ask you to drop the items off at a different location. This is the only chartiy I give clothes to. I know that they are in need of warm items because I made a donation a few weeks ago.
