Hello mommies! Baseball season is starting again and I have promised myself that we wouldn't eat at McDonald's every Tuesday and Thursday this year. Can you guys give me some good recipes? I thought so.

I made this last night and my family liked it. It makes about 12 1-cup servings. You could change it to suit your family's tastes.
Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 4-8 hours
Ingredients
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
2 pounds lean Round Steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
(the butcher at Tom Thumb cut it for me)
3 carrots, chopped
(or about 9 oz. of cut baby carrots)
1 small onion, chopped
1 pound small (1 to 1 1/2-inch) red potatoes, cubed
1 (8-ounce) container sliced fresh mushrooms
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
3 cups low-salt, fat-free beef broth
1/4 cup dry red wine
Directions
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl; coat beef cubes in flour mixture. Place in a 4- to 6- quart slow cooker. Add carrots, onion and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours or on high heat for 4 hours.
Roast
1 small roast
1 med package carrots
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 packet onion soup mix
Pour in 1 can of soup and spread to cover the bottom.
Drop in roast, carrots, and soup mix
Pour in second can of soup
Simmer all day in crock until roast falls apart with fork
I normally buy the steam and mash potatoes to serve with since it makes a gravy.
BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
3 - 4 chicken breasts
1 can coke
1 bottle of your fav BBQ sauce
Pour in half BBQ sauce, add chicken, pour in remainder of BBQ sauce, pour coke in BBQ bottle to get the last bit of sauce and pour in with rest of coke.
Simmer all day until falls apart with fork. Serve on buns.
Jodi's Lazy Day Tortilla Soup
1 large bottle pace
2 cans chicken broth
1 small can corn (optional)
3 chicken breasts
2 tbsp cillantro
8 white corn tortillas
serve with:
lime juice
sour cream
cheese
tortilla chips
pour in Pace, broth, and corn
drop in chicken
1 hour before serving, rip tortillas into pot and add cillantro
simmer until chicken falls apart with fork
shred chicken with two forks
serve in bowl with lime juice, cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips
I recommend www.recipezaar.com. Search for crock pot recipes and then sort on rating. The top rated recipes are usually pretty darn good, and I recommend you read the rating comments as they are great about giving you tips on how to make the recipe even better.
I adapted this recipe for my 7 quart crock pot last week and it was fabulous. http://www.recipezaar.com/Olive-Garden-Copycat-Zuppa-Tosc...
Bon appetit!
1 frozen turkey BREAST (not the entire turkey)
1 package of french onion soup
1 can cranberry sauce (the berry chunky kind)
dump in the crock pot, and put a little water in
cook on low all day or high until done
this is so good as a main dish with veggies, and then pull it apart to make cold sandwiches.
There is a crockpot group on cafemom.com. They have recipes complete with shopping lists. They even do weekly menus for everyday of the week! Check it out. I don't use the weekly menus, but it is great for ideas. We have ballet at 3pm and karate at 6pm on Tuesdays so we use our crockpot a lot. Right now I am stuck in the beans, soup, stew rut, but with the somewhat chilly weather, that's fine. LOL
B.,
Before my sister-in-law passed away a few years ago from breast cancer, she gave me a list of her favorite crock pot recipes. She was such a great cook. I have a huge Word document with a ton of recipes...even desserts. I'd be happy to forward this file to you if you will email me at ____@____.com
This one is super easy!
1 pork tenderloin
1 can of root beer
bar-be-que sauce
Place pork tenderloin in the crock pot. Poor the root beer in and cook on low for 8 hours. After cooking, remove pork from the pot and place in a bowl. Shred and add bar-be-que sauce. Serve on hamburger buns.
I can cook almost anything in my crockpot - started when my daughter was in musical rehearsals last fall....porkchops, barbque, chicken, meatloaf, soups,anything.....if you give specifics I will try to give you a recipe.....happy baseball....
This is the best ever crock pot chicken. I came acoss it on another message board and make it all the time
Crockpot Chicken Alfredo
4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 -8 oz pkg cream cheese
3 T butter
1 pkg good seasons zesty italian dressing (by salad dressings, very important indgredient for flavor)
1 can cream of chicken soup
Mix last 4 ingredients up in crockpot and nestle chicken in the crockpot pushing them in. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours. As you know this will vary a lot on if you have an old or new crockpot. Mine is new and cooks way too fast. It is usually done in 3 hours on low.
Serve over pasta with a side of broccoli.
This is super-easy, awesome and my kids love it!
Apricot Chicken
Place 4 - 6 chicken breast halves in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle chicken with 1/2 of a package of dry onion soup mix. Use one 8 oz. jar of Apricot Preserves and put on top of the chicken. Cover and cook for 6 - 8 hours on low. Serve over rice.
This couldn't be easier and it's really good. I have a bunch of great recipes that are super-fast and easy to make and some are crock-pot recipes. If you want them, please send me your email address and I'll forward them to you. They are in a Word Document.
