Hi mamas,
Several families (including 9 adults and 6 young children under age 5) are looking for a LARGE vacation rental (5 bedroom or more) anywhere between the Bay Area and Los Angeles area. We are trying to get a little reunion vacation together, and wondered if anyone knows of a great rental house to accommodate such a large group of 15. Preferably a place where we could all put our little ones to bed, close their bedroom doors, and then relax and enjoy adult time in the living room. That means no hotels, condos, timeshares, or camp sites.
I've been looking on the web and Craigslist, but just wondered if anyone had a personal recommendation or vacation experience to share that would meet this criteria.

I second the recommendation for VRBO -- vacation rentals by owners.
We have had a lot of success over the years finding rentals through VRBO -- Vacation Rentals by Owner. The process of sorting through homes in an area is somewhat tedious, but homes have always been consistent with our expectations. Good luck.

Check out tahoekeysrental.net. It's a great deal when more than one family shares the cost of renting the house. There have been occasions when more than 15 people w/children have stayed there. It's a fully furnished vacation rental, just in case you want to do laundry or cook a meal or BBQ :). Lots of activities and casino nearby. Enjoy your vacation!
There are some wonderful homes on the beach in Pajaro Dunes. They are spacious and also close enough to "town" so you can pick up a pizza or do a little grocery shopping.
