Another Photobook Question...

Sooo... I asked a question last night about shutterfly, and decided to try out snapfish instead. I got my book finished, and I'm getting ready to order... BUT some of my pics say that they are 'low resolution' and may be blurred out when the book prints... so I have a couple questions...

1~Have you ever printed one that was 'low resolution' and it wasn't really all that horrible? and
2~Is there a way for me to fix the problem? Resize the picture somehow on my computer while keeping the integrity of the photo? I used to have a photoshop program, but that computer crashed so I have no clue how to do it without that. I DO have the original pictures, and they were taken with an HD camera so I would THINK they are re-sizable...

What can I do next?

I've had the low resolution problem when I used pictures that were dowloaded from websites or my email, but never with my own photo, so that's kind of weird. I usually fixed it by changing the size of the photo on my book page, making it smaller. I'm sure if you have the original there would be a way to fix it. Do you have a photo program? I would try that and you'll probably have to re-save it and then upload the new one back onto Snapfish separately. Good luck!

definitely change the size of your photo until your error is gone. I ignored the message in a calendar I made and the photo was very blurry and looked awful!

I have used low-resolution. Sometimes they looked blurry, other times they looked fine. The last book I ordered had a lot of low-resolution, and none of them turned out blurry. The only way to fix the problem is to find the original photo. If you downloaded the photo to a website, and that is where you are taking the photo from, then it will be low-resolution. Try to find the original and good luck!

I have done 2 books of my son (both were through Shutterfly though) and I had some of the pics that said that as well-they had been taken with my cell phone. In both books the pics that said that turned out fine! Again they were through Shutterfly, so I can't promise the same with Snapfish.

I did have that problem once and yes, the picture turned out pretty crappy in my photo book.

From what I understand, once the integrity of a file has been compromised, you can't really do anything about it- unless you have a backup file somewhere.

I'll add more pictures to a page until the low resolution icon goes away. The more pictures the smaller they get so that usually works for me.

Btw, I've seen low res. pictures turn out just fine. It's a gamble I'd only do if I were doing PRINTS, not a book.
