I personally wouldn't be too bothered. I love history and even though its sad and a little creepy, I wouldn't let that determine whether I go or not. If you want to go during this time, go for it!
One of my dream vactions is a Mediterranean Cruise. I was looking at some on line offers a few weeks ago and found a 10 day cruise in the Mediterranean, that had several great ports of call including Greece, Itally, France, Malta. And the cost was under$1000. My biggest issue though is the Costa Concordia is still sitting where it rolled over and partially sank over a year ago. It looked like the new cruise's path would go right past this shipwreak. Maybe that's why the price was so reasonable. I just looked up an update online and the salvage crews don't think they will get the Concordia rolled and moved until late summer maybe early fall 2013, the cruise was scheduled for May 2013.
Would this bother you? I just think it would be creepy to be on this relaxing dream vacation and then sail by this wreak. Opinions??

Wouldn't bother me a bit. That was a freak accident/error by the captain - it isn't the norm. Ships cruise that area daily in the summer.
The Mediterranean cruise I took in 2006 is probably the best vacation I have ever been on.
Also, it will be a brief point in which you'd actually be within site of the Concordia, if you're close enough to see it at all, and you can easily plan to be in your room or in an activity that doesn't look out onto that side of the ship.
I did a Mediterranean cruise a few years ago and it was awesome! We started in Barcelona and ended in Venice. I don't think you'll even be aware when you're going by the wreckage. The ships are huge and you probably won't even be close enough to it if you wanted to see it.
Go and have fun!
Definitely would not bother me.
Don't let it stop you!
Once you get on board, you'll see how busy you are.
We were are trying to book a similar trip for the summer but we'd be flying in and out of Madrid. Have fun...and pack plenty of extra batteries and memory disks/cards for your camera because you will be taking TONS of pictures - deep blue water, old world towns...
I think it would be creepy too.
I would go for it though because that's a great price. I'd just plan on being busy on the other side of the ship that day or deep inside. I bet it won't even cross your mind.
BUT you could also think of how many people survived. Over 4200 people survived that wreck. Now more security and other protocols are in place to prohibit things like this from happening. Especially if it was Captain's error. He could have called for help, he could have realized much earlier that he'd made a fatal call when he went to close to the shore and taken the proper actions, so many things would be done differently now.
So take with it what you will.
Out of sight out of mind (which is what I would do because I don't need those images in my mind) or stand at the rail and view the wreckage of that ship knowing that the 32 people who lost their lives have made it safer for you and the other people on ships all over the world today.
I wouldn't let that be a deterrent. Unless you're in your cabin, have a large window and you're on the correct side of the ship, you won't even see it. You can easily be busy on board at the time it passes that area and miss it all entirely. No one will go on the speaker to announce a partially sunken cruise ship since that's not exactly a wise business move (akin to running the Titanic movie while onboard).
