Hi! Friday is our wedding anniversary. We are driving down to the beach tomorrow, and I am looking for ideas that we can take out of the cooler to have a picnic on the beach. I was thinking some breads and spreads? But I don't know what spreads because we don't usually eat that kind of thing so I don't know what's available. Since I'm only thinking of this today I probably need things I can find at the grocery store since I won't have much time to prepare. Does anyone have ideas?

What can I do next?

Get a loaf of french or italian bread - it's crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. Grab some cheeses or some cheese spreads from the refrigerator section - there's at least 25 to choose from. Get some grapes or some strawberries. Grab a small bottle of champagne and some plastic cups.
Party on!!

My husband and I do "French night" on occasion for dinner. We'll get blueberries, apples, strawberries, canteloupe (basically whatever kind of fruit we feel like that night---usually we pick 2-3 different fruits). Then we get a loaf of bread---usually Italian but sometimes a seasoned bread of something different. We'll either by Alouette (sp?) or we'll make a dip (olive oil, red pepper, garlic, parmesan). Then we'll buy a small assortment of cheeses. It's a really great idea for a romantic lunch.

I LOVE Brie cheese - available at the grocery store. It goes great w/ apples and other fruits. Water crackers go well with the fruit and cheese. Maybe some white wine would be good. A sweet wine (one of my favorites & inexpensive) is Moscato wine. Also, pick up a small dessert for you to share - maybe even feed each other :-) Enjoy your anniversary!!!
