America Girl and Knock Off---storage for Stuff

Dd is turning 11 and still enjoys collecting her dolls. She has 4 dolls and various clothes and pets and accessories.
I bought her a cheapie "wardrobe" like a fancy cardboard box that opens into a little closet from a craft store.
She was crying today more likely because I asked her to clean up...but essentially she asked for storage for her birthday.

Would you get more of the wardrobes? Just a steralite type 3 drawer storage thing??? or is there something else out there for dolls that she would like for hanging clothes and grouping accessory sets like her hair salon set or her doll wheelchair.

Thanks. I know we could just throw it all in a tub but I'd like something cuter.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I think the key i was missing as i looked for storage was doll hangers. I found a post on pinterst to hotglue clothes pins to children's handgers that i alreadyhave a ton of .. and now i can just rig up a dowel rod and i'll be good to go. thanks

Look around at used furniture stores for a small "hope chest". It would be larger most bins and a lot more attractive. Plus she can use it even when she outgrows the dolls.

Look at what she has and what she needs. Cute is no good if it's not what she needs. I'd consider underbed storage, or a sterlite stackable option she can put in her closet for the overflow.

I put a pink and white, 3 drawer unit in our girls bedroom when she was in to Barbies. One drawer was for dolls, one was for clothes and stuff, and one was for more clothes and stuff. It worked really well.

I assume your girl is in either 5th or 6th grade. Please don't spend a lot on this storage and stuff. She's at that age where one day she's going to walk in and want a teen room. No toys at all. SO what you spend today could easily be not needed tomorrow if it's specifically for a particular thing.

I spent $20ish on that pink and white unit at Walmart in the Rubbermaid/Sterilite aisle.

I'm all for useable storage. Things are so expensive now that when I buy, it's always for multipurpose uses. How about a storage bench for the end of the bed? Something with a cushion she could sit on and in a style that won't date easily. Very functional and will be great in her first apartment! :)

I use a lot of totes (under the bed, drawers & stack-able), they come in so many different sizes and colors and can be used for other stuff later on.

If you are crafty you could create something special just for her dolls, maybe an old dresser that can be painted or an old suit case.

Currently my daughter has a fancy foot locker for all her barbies ( I got it at Big Lots), it holds the clothes, dolls and the accessories (Barbies car, and other extra stuff that came with some of the dolls).

I like the mom's idea of a small hope chest. It can be used for something else when she grows out the dolls.
