To be anywhere that works on a "sliding scale" is to go to Parkland or John Petersmith Hospitals in Dallas or Fort Worth respectively. They'll charge you whatever you can pay and then the tax payers pay for the rest.
Hello to all!! Ok so this is a personal matter, but I feel confident that I will get some much needed reassurance that I need. About two weeks ago I went to the emergency room because something just wasn't normal in my lower region, and it hasnt been now for about 2 1/2 weeks(I am going to the Dr. this afternoon) Anyway I have no pains, nothing hurts but I feel like something is kinda hanging out down there. The emergency room Dr. told me that I have what is called a prolapse of the bladder, probably from having my child via c-section so i have read on the internet. I am only 30 years old and this is a little scary to me. My biggest concern isn't the actaul problem because I have read that this isnt fatal, but I have no insurance so I allready have the emergency room bill hanging over my head and if this involves some type of surgery then I will have that expense to. I guess my ultimate questions are these, has anybody suffered from this before..and are there places out there that will treat me, maybe on a sliding scale or something...Thanks for all your advice :)

I'm 37 and have a severe prolaps. I'm told it is caused by long and difficult deliveries, vaginaly, no C-section. (I've 3 kids)
If you are not loosing urine when coughing, or severely constipated the doctors are not going to do anything. Only when it is hanging like a tennis ball out of your vagina, or when you are loosing urine all day.
I hate it that I can not use tampons anymore, they just flop out of my vagina. Other than that there's nothing to worry about. It is very very very common, and harmless.
Please e-mail me if you have questions,
I.
Hi A.,
I'd recommend checking out www.wholewoman.com. There's some good information on this site, and their treatment techniques are non-surgical. Might be a helpful option to explore.
Hope this helps!

Hey A.,
I had a friend that went thru that and it does required surgery and it's pretty intense and expensive without insurance. If you live in Dallas, just go to Park Land.. Good luck..
My brothers girlfriend has been having some medical issues and recently stopped working. She doesn't have insurance so she went to Parkland so it would be covered. I don't know too much other than that. I think it was the emergency room so I don't know if they cover other stuff but I'm sure they would help with cost. Its a teaching hospital so you are getting great care there. I would call and talk to someone there I'm sure they can give you some good solid advice.
You need to apply for medicaid. If you don't qualify for their help, you'll be able to find several hospitals in the area that offer *financial assistance* for the under-insured or no insurance. But first, you have to have proof you've been rejected by medicaid.
Good luck and God bless...
Hi A.,
My mother and a sister have gone through the same thing in the last three or four years. Granted, my mom is in her late 70's now and my sister is in her 50's, so this hit them later in life. I can't remember all the details that ensued with their surgery. I think they basically go in and tuck the bladder back in and "attach" back to it's proper place. It sounds like this is a normal thing for women, especially those who have given birth to several children. I am not sure on the long-term effects from it, like would you have issues if you decided to have more children and I'm not sure how long you could wait to have it taken care of. But if it's uncomfortable to you, I'd see what you can do about it now rather than later. Good luck!!
Also, try Denton Regional. I just saw you are in Denton. My friends mom had treatment for cancer there without insurance. They did bill her, but not for all of it, just a portion.
