I bought this alarm clock fo rmy daughter because she needed to be able to wake up earlier since she was going to start preschool. Here's what it is.

If you look at the description, it's really cute and is great for her age. It also has good ratings too an dit worked well for us.
My problem was that when I was telling my friend about it and she said it would freak out my daughter and it was best i wake her up manually. I was telling her it makes cute sounds when it goes off and that it's useful if I oversleep or am trying to get things ready to go.
My mom didnt like the alarm clock either. She said it's too much for her age. It will help her wake up for school when she gets older, and she will get used to having one.
I just want someone to think it's a good idea besides my sister. What do you think? Do you think it's good for her to have one?
my boys have had alarm clocks since they started Kindergarten. They are TYPICAL alarm clocks...nothing "kiddy" about them.
Your daughter will know what she can and cannot do. I wouldn't listen to what others say about it. Let your daughter do it. Be excited for her....show her how it works and let her do it.
Sorry, I have to agree that an alarm clock for such a young child is not the best way to be woken up. It's not terrible, but at 4 wouldn't you rather have mom soothe you out of bed?? Maybe start with turning on the light (since it's so dark now in the morning!) then come in and rub her back or something. It's often hectic in the morning, I know, but I wish I could have a soothing way of being woken up, besides my loud irritating alarm clock in my ear! Let her save that joy for when she is older :)
