I have 7 & 9 year old (girls) kids. I was planning a Williamsburg/Jamestown/Busch Gardens vacation. I loved these areas as a kid but that was *ahem* a long time ago! Has anyone been lately, and is 7 old enough for B.G.?

Yes! I went to Williamsburg Busch Gardens last month. With 7 and 9 year old boys!

They had a blast! I believe that parking was around $20. There is a free tram that goes from the parking lot to the entrance. When you first walk in there is a ride check station. They measure you and put a colored band on your wrist. Then they hand you a matching color paper that lists all of the rides that your color can ride on. For them, I believe that all of the areas had rides accept for France (which is where the wolves house and train station are). Depending on height, there should be around 20 rides for your kids.

They have a Sesame Street Live section that is geared towards younger kids, my 9 yr old wasn't thrilled.

- There are LOTS of hills, so wear comfy shoes.
- Don't wear leather shoes/sneakers. We had a pair get ruined on the Pompai Ride.
- Wear clothing that dries fast. Jeans tend to rub and hurt after getting wet.
- Take a light jacket. It gets cool around 7pm.
- Take a change of clothes, blanket or towel for when you get back to the car.
- Have a snack and cooler for when you get back to the car. For some reason the kids were fine when we were leaving the park, but as soon as we got to the car 20m later, they were 'starving'!

Have fun!

My husband took our 20mo old and his almost eight year old daughter to the Florida Busch Gardens (which is by our house) the weekend before last and by all accounts everyone had fun. (I was having a grown up weekend with a girlfriend so I didn't witness this 'fun' myself.) I also have a friend who takes her 2 and 3 year olds there on a regular basis. But, having said that I'm not sure if, or what, the differences are between the two parks.

We've been taking our girls to the Tampa's BG for YEARS - our eldest is 13 and I think the first time we went she was less than a year. There is really so much to do for all ages at BG

We took our 3 year old (he was 2 1/2 at the time) over Labor Day. He loved it. They have a new Elmo's World that he stayed in most of the day. We had a blast.
