Advice on Where to Get Photos Taken

I need to get my 6 mo old and 2 year olds pictures taken. Does anyone go somewhere that does not cost a fortune? Id rather not spend the $100-200 it usually costs. I need something more affordable.

What can I do next?

A friend went to Jc Penney and they were okay but she wasn't happy with the person taking the photos. She said she really didn't try very hard. I used to go to Sears and you can usually get a coupon in the paper. I think both have sitting fees though. My cousin went to Walmart and she was very happy with the results, though I think it depends on who is running it because the one by my house is debatable. They don't seem to try very hard to get the best and when I watched it was pretty much, "okay baby, look here", (snap). I would go to some of the stores and see how they are when taking pictures. You should be able to gauge it. Other places are Babies R Us and mall spots but they can cost. I take my own pics now and go on Shutterfly to get prints for regular stuff. They have special effects and backgrounds you can choose--though for Christmas and such I do plan to go somewhere. I plan to visit places and call around to see how responsive the person is to questions and such.

Portrait Innovations has been the best for me. They are pretty cheap and do a great job.

We like JC Penny and Portrait Innovations. They are pretty reasonable and you get a lot of pics!

I agree with Meghan. We also like JcPenney-no sitting fee for the first 4 visits, I think--and Portrait Innovations. They have a package with 1 11x14, 2 8x10s, 4 5x7s and 32 wallets for $9.95 and no sitting fee. The best part about them is that you get your pictures in minutes, not in two weeks like Penneys.
