Adele "Hello" Vs. Ritchie "Hello" - Which Is Better

Just for fun but which "hello" do you prefer? I'm a sucker for the Lionel Ritchie classic but I'm also not exactly a big radio person these days. And yes I know the songs have no similarity other than their title.

What can I do next?

I'm going with option #3, Todd Rundgren's "Hello It's Me"..... not morose or poignant or regretful, but lots of fun to crank up and sing along to when I'm cleaning house and a true pop classic which has inspired a lot of covers in a variety of genres.

Lionel Ritchie's was the best. I may be biased since I've loved him since he was with the Commodores.

I like Lionel Richie's 'Hello' song more than Adele's. His music video was very impactful. I can still picture the blind girl making a bust that looked just like him. As a child, I thought that was amazing.

until i got the adele cd (my husband and i gave each other different cds for christmas without ever even discussing it!) i always defaulted to my beloved, beloved ritchie classic.
but now that i've heard hers a few times, and i love it, i get why it's become so huge.
unfortunately for me i heard a meme in which a cat sings from outside the door 'hello from the other side, i must have miaowed a thousand times', and since that's something that happens dozens of times a day around here, that's my new default.

I like them both. It's seems that Adele's song is very popular since there are so many redoing it.
Here is a rock version which I thought was well done.

Good question! And I can't believe I am saying this but I'd pick Lionel Richie!

Adele is great. What a voice - the whole thing. But she's everywhere, all the time. I recall the good old days when singers could sing and look however they looked. Now, it's so different. Yes, Adele is not the typical 2016 skinny, auto-tuned performer, but the marketing.

I like the meme going around that says, "Saw that Adele tickets are $800, so Hello from the PARKING LOT"

I guess I like the Adele one slightly more only because I've heard the Lionel Ritchie one ten trillion times and I've only head the Adele one 4 million.

I love Adele but not that song so much so I'm going with Lionel Ritchie on this one.
