Activities for My 2 Year Old

I have a 9 month old boy and a 2 year old little girl. We don't have much money because I am not working, but I would really like to get at least my daughter involved in some activities to socialize with other children. All the activities I have looked at cost a lot for our family. Does anyone know of anything I can get her involved in?

What can I do next?

Join a mom's group. Go to www.MOPS.org and find a group near you. Or, momsclub.org will also have groups in your area. These groups have playgroups, moms night out, park days etc. Is a great option for stay-at-home moms. Good luck.

J.,

THere are many things around town that you could do. I am not sure where you live but I would check out the Mom's club. If you are in Rio Rancho area or if you dont mind driving. There is a group called STay at home moms of Rio Rancho called meetup.com. THey do a Bunch of things together. If you are on the NE side. YOu can get involved in MOPS which is at Grace Church, and I think there may be other ones around town. THere is also a playgroup that meets at Calvary Chapel once a week. I totally understand how it is to have a toddler at home, Mine goes crazy when there is nothing to do. Hang in there

find a MOMS Club in your area. They do a lot of play dates and things that don't cost anything or very little.
If you need help finding one let me know. ____@____.com

I'm not sure WHERE in ABQ you're located, but the Taylor Ranch Community Center offers Tumble Tots and Rythmn and Movement classes that are relatively cheap (around $25/month for weekly classes). Other community centers might have similar things. I'm also a big fan of MOMS Club! The one I'm in is VERY active. Lots of monthly activities to keep you and your kids having fun together! Good luck!

Depending on where you live you can check into your local parks and rec. In Rio Rancho (you don't have to be a resident) they have some very affordable activities for kids, from tumbling to art and many others. They typically are about $30 for about a six to eight week round of classes.

Good luck!

Check out your local libraries. Most do a story hour. Some have a free family movie night. Both Barnes and Nobles have a story hour and one includes a craft project. Also, pick up a copy of NM Kids. They have great monthly listings in the back of the book.
