A Good Table-chair

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old (both boys). The 4 year old is writing his alphabets/words and 2 year old is learning to eat on his own. I am looking for a good set of table and chair that they can use to sit and eat lunch-dinners together as well as to read/write and do crafts. We have a small house so I want something that is not too bulky or big, but at the same time sturdy and can accommodate my tall 4 year old as well.
Do you all have any suggestion and recommendations? Please include the brand name or link if possible. I dont have IKEA in my city but if you can tell me the model/detail I can try to get it on my next trip to the city that has Ikea :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I bought folding table and 4 chair set from Walmart with thomas the train on it. It has been a great buy. Both boys can sit on it and eat or play or draw on it. It has been 4 months and so far it has held up great with no issues. It has actually encouraged by boys to eat on their own. Table is padded but my kids dont seem to have any problem writing on their notebooks or white boards. Cheap and best!

We had a Little Tyke set for a while. I would advise against that set. It was great for a while and I liked that it was light and easily moved (I could take it outside for messier projects), but it is NOT meant for tall kids. We outgrew it quickly.

We find an amazing set at a garage sale. And I have seen some terrific ones on sale on craigslist. So I would suggest checking there if you are comfortable shopping there.

I know several people who really like a few of the sets offered by Ikea. My SIL has two rather tall children and she has loved this set http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80153701/?quer.... They have used it for a few years. She bought the table that matches. And I know many families who have this set http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20099496/ Seems to do really well, but you may not like that it only comes in bright colors.

We had a kid size folding table (square) and 4 chairs for my oldest at that age. It was great because I could store it if we needed to or leave it out. It was bright colors - table was blue and the chairs were red, blue, green, yellow. The only thing was the table top was padded which made it harder to draw and write on. It lasted for years !

IKEA ships. I like all of their little tables/chairs, but you can look and see if your family would like the more cartoony looking ones or the wood ones. I also have a Little Tykes table that I got from a neighbor but plan to pair it with a couple of IKEA chairs for Christmas. I can't find DD's table online right now but there's a similar one in primary colors on Amazon. I would steer away from folding tables/chairs because kids do silly things and boys are rough on furniture. I think the plastic ones or wooden ones would serve you better.

Step 2 is also a good brand and you can get it from Toys R Us.
