A Different ?? About "Sending Flowers"

I was just curious, am I the only one who ever re-reads questions I've already visited and answered, to see if anyone after me wrote "I agree with what S. G. wrote" or some other acknowledgement? Do you like it when your answer is referenced somewhere else? Do you like it better than a flower? Don't care one way or the other?

What can I do next?

I think it feels good when you get referenced but sometimes it makes you feel bad that someone else got referenced and you didnt (what was wrong with my answer?). Not that it makes or breaks my day but the added recognition always make a person feel cheerful. Flowers are cool no matter what. I like the positive private messages too, there's a few of the girls on here that are good about that.
It's always nice to feel special, even in cyberland. :)

I go back and see if anyone else responded after me. I send flowers to ladies that I feel gave good advice too.

For me, a 'flower' is fine. Although, during our Christmas shutdown, I didn't get on the computer, and someone had a question about a car... It made me feel pretty darned good that there were several ladies that remembered me enough to refer that person in my direction.

But I revisit things I've answered to see another perspective.

I always send flowers to people who take the time to answer my questions. I think it's terribly rude not to say thank you for giving me , a stranger, your time and thoughts. If I am reading someone elses answers and I see a particular answer that helps me I will send a flower. But I never check to see how others take my answer or check to see if I got any recognition . I don't see why anyone would care about if other people mentioned you in their posts . I get my recognition from my family, friends and work. Not mamapedia.

Hi S.
Its great to get the recognition, it rarely happens though LOL
There seems to be a few VERY popular Mamas on this site who are get mentioned alot.
Remember a post " whose responses you like the best" and these same Mamas were mentioned by every respondant.
That aside, I am very confident S. and I tell myself how fab I am all the time even if you Mamas don't know it yet LOL
Nice honesty!!

I love getting flowers! Makes me see that someone out there is actually reading what I wrote. Of course, I rarely send flowers. I better get on that!

I do like it when my answer is referenced in another mother's post. But the 'flowers' are great too just not as specific as to what they liked about what I wrote.

feels good to me when someone likes my thoughs and opinions, but i don't go back and review to see who all agreed, i look when a flower is sent or when a subject really hits home to me.

i have to admit that it's really annoying when you post something or comment on something and you're attacked for , when it's CLEARLY not meant to offense anyone but it offends EVERYONE and makes it worse when that's how you feel, but ooo don't say that! even though this is the internet, you STILL can't say "the wrong thing" without getting mobbed sadly

occasionally i do, if i have time, and when it does happen it's lovely! but a flower is nice too. it's always pleasant to have ones opinions appreciated.
i've also had helpful critiques from time to time.
i also love it that the occasional personal messages are positive. i've only ever had two nastygrams, and they were both comically dramatic.
bluntness doesn't generally create hate mail.

I don't go to my account. I get too much hate email because I am often blunt with my answers and tell the person what my opinion is, I really do try sometimes to make it softer but occasionally I just cannot make it any plainer than how I say it.

So, when I go back if someone liked what I said I notice they sent flowers and I think that's enough.
