My Daughter is 7 months old and doesn't like baby food. I have tried so many different baby foods, veggies, fruits, cereals and she gags on all of them. I Have tried organic, Gerber, and even making my own baby food. I am exclusively breast feeding right now. She DOES like to eat cheerios, those Gerber sweet potatoe puffs, corn puffs, peach, apple/strawberry etc... She also loves the Gerber biter biscuits.
I am just guessing that she does NOT like the texture of baby food, that mushy texture. Although i have made her baby food more coarse and still a no go.
I am looking for maybe some idea's of other baby food's i can give her that are similar to what i listed above that she DOES like.
I had NO problem with food for my son, who is now 2.5. He started eating at 4 months but my daughter no so much! I am wanting her to eat more because she is crawling and pulling herself up on things, active...and she is starting to not sleep through the nights anymore. Please someone help me! haha!
Thanks in advance!
A.

she should be ok as long as she getting the breast milk. what stage food are you trying to give her? have you tried just plain baby cereal? if you can get her to take that then mix i little bit of friut or a veggie in it. also they do sell a mess teether that you can put fruits or veggies in so she can chew the heck out of them. as for the waking up at night maybe try to cluster feed her in right before bed say like if she eats dinner at 6 nurses at 7 and bed at 8... try feeding as much of the solid you can get her to eat then have her nurse about 30 mins earlier then you would and then a half hour before she would goto bed try to get her to nurse again. i hope this is helpful to you! just give it time

My first didn't like solids much at all until after turning 1. She breastfed on demand and ate cheerios, veggies puffs and sometimes banana and avocado. My second started eating solids around 6mos. Neither one had jarred baby food only because I preferred fresh veggies, fruits and so on.

I wouldn't worry about your daughter not liking baby food. Continue to breastfeed and every now and then introduce something else. She is old enough to feed herself so why not mash up some banana, sweet potatoe or avocado and hand her a spoon, she may get a little in her mouth, she may not but she will have fun!

Try rice cereal or baby oatmeal.

My daughter is 6 1/2 months old and I just started feeding her as well. I noticed that she preferred the bananas once I mixed it with rice cereal. The taste of the bananas alone was too intense.

Have you tried those mesh thingys where you put the food inside and she can feed herself? The foods you listed are foods she can feed herself, maybe she'll eat a larger variety if she can feed herself. Some other foods you could try are mild cheese or fresh flounder. At eight months you could also introduce lentils. Some children have trouble digesting lentils, so you'll have to watch it.
