I have a friend who had the same problem with her little boy. She stuck a poise pad in his diaper at night. Odd, but it worked!
I would lik eto what other mommy's use for their little boys. I am using pampers and just moved into #2's and I do not like them veru much. My son is just about 13lbs and they seem to swallow him up. There is not a lot of give on th edise which the #1's had. I find when he gets up in the morning his clothe sare wet. I tried the othe rnight changing him a few hours after he went down but I don't what to have to do that every night. ANY SUGGESTIONS????
Thank you all for your responses. I figured out that my husband bought the wrong diapers to begin with so that was funny to me. I did end up sticking with thepampers swadlers size two and he has not had a problem since. So again thank you all!!!!

Here's the simple trick that made all the difference for us: After his last feeding before he goes to bed, give him about 15 minutes to play, read a book, or whatever before you change him into the diaper he will sleep in. That gives him a chance to pee one last time before going down.
Good luck!
My son had the same problems. I used Huggies Night Time and he wasn't wet again. They hold a ton! They were great for airplane rides and long car rides too.
I also looked at diaper doublers but never used them. I saw them in Tom Thumb but never saw them in Target. They are a pad that goes on the inside of the diaper to give extra absorbancy in the needed area.
Just wanted you to know that I agree that you might want to try the Pampers Swaddlers, size 1/2, which I think they only sell at Sams. It was great for that in between time. Altough it makes some sense to try a bigger diaper, he could be leaking because the diaper is too big, and not close enough to his stomach. Be sure it is tight enough. Good luck!
You may want to try other brands of diapers. My son (now 2 &1/2) had the same problem when he was an infant. We found that Huggies fit he body type best. We eventually had to upgrade to Huggies Supreme. After trying generic brands; pampers I believe that the Supreme Huggies works best for us.
I suggest purchasing smaller packs until you find out what works best for you.
I don't have a boy but I do have a 4-month old little girl. We buy our Pampers Swaddlers diapers at Sam's (Costco has the same type as well) and they are a combo size 1-2. This might be an alternative for you as there is more give but should not have any issues with leakage. You have to by them by the case and they're around $35 for 200+ diapers. If you don't feel comfortable shelling out that money for unknowns, I'll be happy to send you a couple of mine to try if you would like.
I had that same problem with both of my sons when they were little....but I was using Huggies at the time. I then switched over to Pampers and they worked best for me. I think it is a boy thing but my sister also said that Pampers worked best with her little boy. I guess my only bit of advice would maybe be to try a bigger size....the bigger they are the more they absorb! And I didn't use the Pampers swaddlers...I simply used plain old Pampers. Good luck!
It looks like you have it figured out, but my favorite diapers for my little girl have been pampers swaddlers... they have a size 1-2, it's in between sizes 1 and 2 and they go up to 15 pounds but fit her a little bit better than the 2s did. Good luck!
Try going up a diaper size for night-time AND buy the night-time diaper.
Its the Pampers. My 7 month old was doing the same thing sometimes even after just 2-3 hours. I called Pampers because I had just bought a big 100+ pack and the girl suggested I try the Pampers Swaddlers instead. She said they would contour more to their bodies. They sent me a free coupon for them so I gave them a try. He didn't wet through the night in them but the wet still stayed closer to his skin than I liked. I love HUGGIES. I have never had any problems with them. I have tried them all (LUVS, Pampers, White Cloud) and I think Huggies is the best.
Same thing happened to us when our baby boy was that age. We started using Huggies Overnights one size higher than his regular diapers. It works like a charm!
We'd been having the same problem with my 4 month old's diapers. She is 15 pounds. We've discovered the Huggies Overnites. Fabulous diapers for sleeptime. Size 3 is the smallest that they have, and it's for babies 16-28 lbs. You can find it at Target and Toys R Us. Also, at Albertsons you can find these absorbancy pads that you can add to the inside of the diaper for overnight that works well too.
my twin boys have had those issues too. My daughter as a baby never had wet pj's when she woke up so I think its more of a boy thing, maybe because they potty so much in the front and top of the diaper (I've even tried pointing their you know whats down and it still doesn't help LOL). Anyway, we have the "fewest" leaks with Huggies. They would wake up every single morning with their pj's and crib sheets wet when we used Luv's. I'll be watching to see what the other moms of boys recommend!
At Tom Thumb grocery stores they have, in the diaper section something called "Diaper Doubles" it's like a liner (almost like a maxi pad but not stick'em one side) that acts as an extra layer. I've used them for both boys and girls in "night-night pants" to give them the extra protection. Good Luck!
We have had great luck with Walmart's store brand-White Cloud. Cheap and very effective. When he started overflowing his diaper, I just simply moved him up a size. Good Luck!!
I had the same problem with the Pampers #2 so I used Huggies and Luvs and didn't have that problem but when I went on #3 and #4 were fine.
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

i've found pampers swaddlers in the 1/2 size to be a good fix for wet little boys in that weight group! good luck!
This is VERY common with boys. First, make sure IT is pointed DOWN when you put the last diaper on him. And we only used the premium diapers -- Pampers Swaddlers (not "baby dry") or Huggies Supreme (not "ultratrim"). The Huggies overnites only come in larger sizes, so they may be way too big for a 13lb baby.
In addition to having a package of diapers the next size up for night time, we got something called a "diaper doubler" from Babies R Us for about $4 a package. It is an absorbent insert to put in the diaper. It basically looks like a big maxipad (I've even heard of people using a maxipad to solve this problem). Not only did the doubler stop the leaks, but it helped fill the gaps from having too big a diaper on the baby.
This may sound crazy, but ALbertson's has a product called "Diaper Doublers". They are in the diaper section. They are very similar to large maxi-pads. I have found them to be incredibly helpful. They solve the problem of leaks at night while being very cost effective. They are also invaluable if your little one gets a tummy bug- won't make them feel any better, but will at least cut down on the laundry for mom.
How funny, I put this same request in about 6 months ago. I tried everything that the mommies told me to but honestly the nothing seemed to work with my little boy. He just eventually grew out of it. I hope you have better luck.
First off it sounds like a sizing issue, if it's too big or too small you get it everywhere! Plus you do need to make sure the aiming device is poperly aimed. If not it could just go right out the side, daddy found out the hard way. They it my son properly around 14lbs so not too far off to go. If it is an issue put him down in only a diaper & a swaddle with a few layers of sheets w/ a protector between each sheet while you find/try different diapers if you choose to. We found that a fresh one just before his last feeding and a well fit diaper keeps a dry baby at night. good luck.
Hi L.,
I did not use pampers simply because I preferred Huggies, but as far as coverage in the night goes, you need to get the HUGGIES OVERNITES!! These are design specifically for overnight wetting. One other thing, just go up a size on the Overnights, if your baby is in 2's go to 3's, they just do better in the bigger sizes at night. My son is now 3 years old and potty-trained, so I have not need of them, but these were wonderful!! I don't know if pampers has something like that (I am sure they do), but I really liked the Huggies overnights because they really held very well during night time wetting.
Good Luck!!

You might want to try a size up, or overnights (for super absorbency). Good luck!

We had a similar problem with our son. Althought I was skeptical that there was a difference between the "daytime" diapers and those made for "nighttime," it really made a difference. I was able to stop changing him in the middle of the night and there were no accidents of wet jammies once we moved to the Huggies Nighttime for sleeping.
