Hi moms! I'm 35 weeks pregnant and my hips keep popping. I am assuming this is totally normal but I am wondering if any of you have experienced this. It tends to happen when I roll over in bed or stand up after getting out of bed. My hips hurt so bad on top of it, especially when I first wake up. The pop was so loud it woke up my husband and he couldn't believe it. It feels like it is deep in my pelvis where the popping is, close to the baby's head. Have any of you experienced this? Thanks ahead of time!

What can I do next?

No worries! It's totally normal. Pregnancy hormones cause changes in join laxity especially in the last few months. I not only had popping hips, but my ankles felt wobbly/weak and my wrists popped sometimes too. :)

I don't know about popping, but your body gets ready for delivery by relaxing the pelvis bone connections. They have to give some to get baby out and yours may be extra loose. Don't worry about it but be extra careful when you first get up. Go slow!

Yes! Lovely progesterone is to thank. All of the joints in your pelvis are loosening to prepare for birth. It is quite annoying and very uncomfortable! I had the same thing but it got much better after the baby dropped (for me this was 36 weeks, DD was born at 41 weeks). Try putting a small pillow under your hip when you sleep.
Its totally normal and not unsafe for baby; just a little un-fun for Mom!

My hips have popped since I was pregnant with my first child. My husband thinks it's so weird. I'll just be walking sometimes and it goes, "pop, pop, pop!" Lol. It doesn't hurt most of the time, but sometimes I get one good one in that hurts. So, I don't know if it's normal or not, but it happened to me.
