Does anyone have any suggestions for a party for a three year old boy? there will be 3 other three year olds attending and 2 one year olds. I don't want to spend a lot of money and want to keep it simple.

What can I do next?

It depends what does he like? If you tell me what he likes and interest I bet I can come up with an idea that is great and does not cost a lot!

if you go to a arts and craft store like AC MOORE. (maybe even walmart)
you can buy t-shirts really cheap. The kids can draw on them with fabric paint. they will love it! (place cardboard between the shirt so it doesn't bleed threw onto the back.) Hang to dry. FUN, CHEAP, AND A PARTY FAVOR ALL IN ONE!

Hi,
One of my favorite and quite inexpensive party activities is decorating sugar cookies. You can buy them already made, (Archway or at the local grocery store bakery...you can use any flavor dough you like actually) use canned frosting (or make your own), have several types of candies and sprinkles and this age group will love to create! I like to divide the different types of candies into muffin trays.

I found too that sticking with a theme is always fun and helpful. You can easily find free coloring pages online to fit your theme as well as a book at the library. I'm sure a short dvd or video to fit the theme could be easily found as well.

Kids this age really are impressed with simple things. Musical Chairs, Duck Duck Goose or candy scrambles are cheap and fun!

Go to birthdaypartyideas.com They have TONS of ideas grouped by the age of your child. Most of them are creative and cheaply done! Good luck!

I have had my osns last 2 parties here at home..(he is 4 1/2)finger foods out, pizza and of course cake. I usually have Dino bites, fruit & veggies etc cut up and out and about for them to eat while playing.

If he likes Thomas or Diego..just get the plates & napkins and maybe some unpainted wooden trains and let the kids paint them. You don't have to go all out and the parents can all visit too.

Hi P.,
you can put baloons and baloons all the way on the wall(for pictures it is wonderfull), tie 4 at 4 make one wall of baloons choose what the theme your kid like (ex. elmo: red baloons, red tablecloth, some elmos on the table. Blues clues blue and white )
the baloons and toys make a beautfull image and it is not expensive !!!! take what you have at home dont buy a lot things, music, and some games to,kids loves dancing and singing .
plate and cups you can buy colored to, not whit theme this ones it is very expensive.
i used this idea on my son birthday (the same reason "cost down")
if you liked my idea you can call me.i will love to help you ...
my friend rent some themes (three decorates tables(1 for cake,1 for gifts,1 for candys, baloons on the back of the table one big painel whit the theme if you want i can send picture for you .ps:it is not expensive she doing for friends not for living . (last year i did for 60 people whit everthing :cake, (she did decorations), candy, hot dog, pizza, sodas, pasteis, sandwichs...for $300 it is very good....

a safari theme would be cute.. make binoculars out of toilet paper rolls (the kids can make them at the party) and then search for animals.. put pictures or small animals around a room and see if they can find them.. they can keep the animals they find for goody bags..
Where are you? I make cakes and would love to speak with you about doing a cake!

Hi!

You could have a decorate your own t-shirt party or decorate your own cookie, cupcake, etc. Three year olds are still easy and you don't have to do much but let them wreck your house. : ) My son will be 5 next week and we're doing his first not-at-home party. Last year we had a make-your-own-sundaes party. It was awesome and inexpensive. The t-shirts are currently 5 for $10.00 at ACMoore and fabric markers or paint aren't expensive at all. Plus they have their own party favor they made themselves!@ Hope this helps!
