Hello-
My sister also had irregular periods.
It's good you are going to the doc.
If the doc doesn't suggest it - ask about Progesterone cream.
Best wishes and prayers
Help! I am 32 years old. I have always had irregular periods, but nothing dramatic. I got my period on january 26th, last about 5-6 days. Then a week later, I got another period, again lasted 5-6 days. A few days went by and I started bleeding again on Saturday!? I have a Dr. Appt. set up for Wednesday, but just wondering if anyone else has had this. I am really starting to get myself worked up about it.

Hi M.!
First of all, relax!!!! As long as you have been consistant on getting an annual pap smear I would not go getting worked up about this! Be careful what you read on the internet... a lot of different things all have the same symptoms and you can worry yourself gray from reading them... I know I do it all the time! lol
My period has always been irregular also. Sometime I would be just like you and what seemed like months straight I had my period with just days in between each. Other times it has been soooooo heavy where I wear 2 overnight pads and a tampon and within an hour or two I am overflowing- sorry for TMI! My hubby always says he is gonna build an Ark because he is afraid he will drown while we are sleeping! lol Or like now where I have not had one since November and was just put on Provera for a week to bring it on :(
When I start to bleed extremely heavy or more often than I should I do just like you are doing and check in with the Dr. A few years ago (around the same age you are now) I had a D&C because of the excess periods and length of them. It helped tremendously and my periods became regular for awhile which was great!
The last time I had the extremely heavy bleeding for 2 weeks straight for several months in a row the Dr suggested doing the Uterine Ablation (I may have butchered the spelling). I chose not to do this because of the risks involved and I am petrified of surgeries to begin with! But it is an option I am still considering if I do start again with them so bad and another D&C does not work.
Make sure your Dr explains everything- the why it is happening and what your options are. If you are concerned over something that you have read on the internet make sure you get answers to help put your mind at ease!
Good luck and blessings to you and yours!
Definitely get yourself checked out to rule out anything else and get bloodwork done - hormone levels too. If you find that you are indeed low in progesterone, don't let them give you synthetics. Email me and I can provide a ton of information for you on bio-identical natural progesterone cream that has helped millions of women.
Email me if you would like the docs. I'd be happy to provide them to you!! You will get back to normal and yes, it's good to have it checked out asap. Let us know how it went!!

Sounds like it could be a progesterone issue perhaps too low. So I would make sure the doc does bloodwork. You may have to have blood drawn at several different points in your cycle since it rises after you ovulate. If it is too low after ovulation you can experience spotting/a period. I've have a progesterone issue that impacted my ability to have a baby. I've taken 2 different types of vaginal suppositories and progesterone injections that were prescribed my my fertility doc (reproductive endocrenologist). If your regular OB does not feel qualified you may get sent to one of those. I know there are pill forms and creams as well. Good Luck.
