Hello J.,
I have had the 1994 SL2 Awesome car, it was a stick shift and had performance tires, it rode like it was on rails! We were rear ended while at a complete stop at a red light late November 2001 by a full size Ford Expedition, the driver never applied his breaks. Our Daughter (then, just turned 7) and our Son (then 3 1/2 months) were asleep in the back seat. Our rear bumper was pushed under the car, the trunk crumpled, and our front seat were ripped out from the floor of the car. The car seats with our children were slightly misaligned, but intact, after the wreck, but thank God the kids were fine. I had a seat belt injury and my husband received 2 disk injuries. We walked away...the State Trooper said that we were lucky and if we had been in another car of that size we would not be so lucky. We were hit at an estimated 40 mph. We of course went to the hosp. (one was across the street) our Saturn was a total loss only because the damage to the front seats put us over the allowance. I now own a 2002 SC Coupe, LOVE it! No problems, knock on wood! My sister Jenn has a 2001 L series, she loves it and professes to "drive it into the ground." We are both professional women and could afford a "better" car, but nothing beats getting your insp. done and having nothing to fix. The only complaint I would have about the two models I have owned/own is that I do not like the seat comfort. My sister's L series has better seats in terms of comfort. Another downside is that they do not hold value. This is a work horse car, in for the long haul. And Ps. I bought both of mine used and never looked back.
