It was a long time ago but my husband was given a gown and things to put over his shoes when I had my c-section. A neighbor had one and her husband just had to scrub up and put on slipperrs.
I know this is an odd question, but was hoping someone may know from experience. My husband is concerned that the hospital won't have XXL scrubs for him to wear when I go in for my c-section. He is so broad and concerned that he won't be able to fit in the scrubs they give you. Anyone else married to a Big Guy and were there any issues? As if this is what I should worry about, lol. But don't want him to feel self conscious. I think he's a babe :)

We are both plus size and were concerned about it. Just call ahead and let them know you need one, they have them on hand all ready to go. Good luck.
I am tall and over weight. I wore the "hazmat" suit they gave me when my daughter had her c-section. It was plenty big on me and I wear xxl tops. He should be fine. I was worried the shoe covers wouldnt be big enough. lol. they were just barely. Funny tho when the NICU staff took the baby and ran, I went with them wearing the same suit, and my husband, sister and friend waiting in the hall didnt know it was me until they saw the camera. All I remember is hearing my husband yelling, "that nurse has my camera"..lol But really, they have big stuff and he can always ask a while before the surgery to get him a big roomy one to make him feel better. Hes probably stewing over it and will be a lot more relaxed if he takes care of it right after you check in, instead of waiting till they offer it to him just before going in to be with you.
They have 3x size scrubs.
Don't buy your own. The hospital will require them to be clean, as in laundered by them not from home.
I wouldn't worry about it (or tell him not to worry about it). Doctors and nurses come in all shapes and sizes. Guaranteed there will be something that will fit him! If he is really that concerned, talk to your doctor at your next visit about the size of scrubs. I'm sure they can reassure him as well!
My DH is a bigger guy and they had scrubs that fit him just fine.
My husband is a resident physician and I know they have scrubs that will fit him. So tell your hubby not to worry, they have of all sizes! :)
He could always take some with him that you guys buy before hand. If they are new in the package surely they won't have any issues about sanitary or not.
My husband, at the time of our twins' birth, was 6'4" and 330 lbs. They had to find a set of scrubs to fit him, and they were tight, but they fit. I have the most adorable picture of him in his scrubs before the c-section. We have a c-section planned for Monday, and my husband is now over 20 lbs lighter, so I can't wait to take the same picture as a comparison.
They may just give him a disposable gown to go over his clothes. My husband didnt want to take the time to change before my c-section, so he told the nurse that he wanted the gown instead and he got to keep his clothes on.
He can always buy his own
My hubby did just fine with the standard issue. your hubby should be fine too.
P.S. I couldn't help bu chuckle at this question, oh the things we worry about before we have a baby. :)
Best of luck!
they didnt make my husband wear scrubs and hes a big dude like 6'something 260ish lbs....and tell your husband to look around the hospital theres employees there that are probably double his size and they scrub up so im sure theres nothing to worry about lol.....if hes still concerned then stop at walmart and grab a pair there for him to bring lol thats where we got them when i was in massage school a few years back....
I have had 2 c-sections and my hubby is a XXL or even XXXL! The first time (emergency c) they had to scramble to find some that fit and they were a bit snug, but they did the job. The second time was planned and we gave the nurse a head's up ahead of time and they had nice comfy sized scrubs waiting for him.
They don't give out scrubs, just a gown, shoe covers and the glamorous hair cover thingy.
XXL is NOTHING, have you seen some of those nurses? Hard to take a lot of them seriously when they are so overweight.
They made my hubby put on one of those white michelin man looking suits...and then a hat, mask and shoe covers...so he was able to wear his regular clothes underneath...my hubby is a muscular guy too and this was fine for him...actually had alot of room in it...ask if your hospital has this and I guarentee he will be way more comfortable...Good luck!!
