Would like to Find a Doctor's Office That Can See Whole Family in Chicago

I'm 7 months preg and am starting to look for a doctor for the baby. I see lots of advice for pediatricians, but what I'd really love to find is the kind of doctor I saw as a child. My doctor and the doctors in the practice were not only pediatricians, but saw the whole family. I'd like to find an office where my baby, my husband and myself can all go when we get sick.

I live in Logan Square and work downtown, so either of those places would be most convenient, but I am willing to go elsewhere in the city if someone has a good recommendation.

Has anyone used a family practice they could recommend?

What can I do next?

We go to Lifetime Medical Associates at 1645 W Jackson. They are affiliated with Rush. My older kids were with a pediatric group but since my daughter born last March had possible issues (turned out not)we kept her with the doc that saw her in the hspital. She turned out to be the same doc I see if mine is not available. I have since transferred everyone over. The wait time is not extreme like some places and they really listen to any concerns. You might see a different doc from time to time but I have never had a problem.

Hello,
I love a family physician for all the reasons you mentioned! Last year, after very disappointing experiences with doctors following the birth of my daughter, I switched to a new family doctor and I love him. He is very supportive and thorough in his suggestions and ideas for any treatment we may need, and even during a hospitalization for my daughter (not being a pediatrician, he didn't have privileges at Childrens Memorial), he still called us regularly to see how things were going. It takes around 25 minutes for us to drive to him, but there's never a wait, and it's worth it, in my opinion. His name and info is:
Dr. Jutovsky
MJ Medical Group
6326 N. Lincoln Ave., 60659

Hope that helps!

We use the Family Practice docs at UIC and like them a lot. Dr Potter actually delivered my last baby! We also like Dr Figueroa but i think her practice is closed to new patients right now.

It's not geographically convenient, but I just loved Dr. Lynda Lane when I lived in the city, and she has a family practice. She is one of the best - caring, flexible, smart.
