Both my husband and I work from home and love it. I don't have a boss, I have more flexibility in my schedule and I love the products and the company that I work with and truly believe in them. Most of the work can be done on the phone or internet, very little of it is actually in person, unless I want it to be. I, too, don't have to recruit anyone if I don't want to and if I take some time off, I am still able to make money. There is also no inventory to keep, no party planning and can be done with absolutely no risk at all (seriously). But I love it because it is 1) helping people and their families with their overall health and wellness, with everyday products that we all use, and it also allows me to help other moms and individuals be able to work from home and earn money.
I also agree with the previous post though, if you do decide to work from home research the companies. Before starting this business, I looked at all different sorts of opportunities and some were legit, but even those were still difficult to actually get paid work from them. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

CJ;

Yes. I have. I recruit from home. I have my own home office - dedicated land line, fax machine/copier (all in one) and when I present the right candidate - I make good money ($5K a placement)....

However, it was NOT easy getting started. There is a certain amount of trust that is needed in order to do a telecommuting job. You need to get up EVERY DAY and get dressed like you are going to work - not sweats - attitude is EVERYTHING....

Find a company that doesn't "NEED" you in the office - there are jobs that you can do from home - however, if you have babies - then they probably won't be for you - as they are customer assistance calls and you would need to be available specific times during the day to answer the calls.....

I know there are companies out there that telecommute...you CAN DO IT!!

Most of the things you see are either scams, MLM's, or direct selling.

If you are into the direct selling and MLM's, you recruit people, sometimes have parties, sell, sell sell.....

What are you good at and what do you like to do? Think outside the box.

Sometimes you can be an admin for a small company and work from home. We run our company from home and I have an at home mom who is a whiz at Quickbooks tutor me on QB. We don't meet often, I just call her and she walks me through what I need and I pay her a pro-rated amount up to $85 per hour.

There are some legit things out there, you just have to weed through the crappy things.

Nope. Not unless you have a specialized skill - like the poster who does recruiting. Your best bet is to find a company that needs telecommuters; several call center companies select people for work from home. But if you're also looking to watch your kids that wouldn't work.

I work from home it is the best job I have ever had. I do a lot on the internet but I also do in home presentations, one on one presentations and TALK a lot on the phone which is something I have always loved to do. I work for a VERY legitimate company and I do not consider myself a sales person but an Educator. I teach people how to be wise consumers, to read their labels, how to become healthier and look younger. I give information a sample or test trial here and there and the rest is up to the person I talk to. I love what I do and I love the products and I also love that one of the products stopped my suffering from Migraine headaches as well as got me through the big M and I had no symptoms so I didn't even know it was happening. So to answer your question Yes I work from home on the internet and I actually make real money.

actually, yes, there are lots of things you can do from home. i have done a few. however, working from home is not the same as working outside of the home. you dont get hourly pay (without a degree and a company who just happens to allow that) and just about anything you will have to put in SOME sort of money to start making some money. But really, you have to do that with most jobs. you have to buy a uniform, office clothes, special non-slip shoes, etc. there is always something! if you want my list of things i have tried or not, feel free to PM, i can lay out the advantages and disadvantages of everything i have tried for you in case you are curious about any of them! lol. the most important thing is be SAFE. anything advertising "free" is likely a scam. anything that is advertising "make 1,000 the first week!" is a scam. Make sure you look things up with the better business bureau to make sure its legit!

I do and I LOVE it! I'm a Stylist for Stella & Dot, a boutique jewelry line based out of California. I get to work from home, wear the jewelry (it's been featured in InStyle magazine 84 times, including this month's issue!), and I've met amazing friends through my fellow stylists and my customers. I started because I was bored, lonely in a new town, stuck with wedding debt, and uninspired by the job options that were available. It might be something you'd like! Check it out www.stelladot.com/karlee123 or www.facebook.com/stelladot.karlee123. This is the link to an awesome article about the business itself http://bit.ly/9SGt4p. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions if you're intrigued!

I work from home and love it. It took a little time but I now make a weekly paycheck even when I don't work. :)
Sounds crazy but I own 4 franchises on the internet. They are open 24/7 so folks shop all the time. I have over 4000 partner stores like Walmart, Target, Travelocity.....you name it I have it. All these stores pay me to shop as well so I make commission on everything I purchase in life.
LOVE IT!
:)
It took me many years to find something that I could truly work around my kids schedules and actually make money. I love it. Anyone that wants to pick my brain please feel free to message me. I can tell you about the things that I looked at and educate you on what is out there.

there are freelance websites out there where people/companies pay you to do a specific task from home if you qualify. i.e. administrative support, translations, graphic design, programming, etc. Here are a couple:
www.guru.com. / www.projectforhire.com / www.elance.com
It may not be a long-term solution, but could be helpful in bringing in extra money...

I've been a Pampered Chef Consultant for almost 10 years. LOW start up cost (like $80-$115 MAX). I do live cooking shows at people's homes and I usually make anywhere from $200-$300 for a few hours worth of work. It's pretty easy work and after the show, I don't have to deliver the order to the Host, I'm done. I don't always have ALL the shows I'd like, but it's a pretty consistent business and it's easy. I DON'T have to recruit anyone (and I generally don't). I have 2 people on my team and that's pretty much been by accident.
It's not for everyone (I happen to love cooking and I'm a foodie). Find something you LOVE to do and see if you can make $$ doing it. You can check out my website if you'd like:

Good luck with whatever you decide and RESEARCH any company you are thinking about. Google the name of the business and the word "scam" after it. It's amazing what you'll find. Please don't start up with any business that wants you to "invest" a lot of $$ in stock or products. They are usually scams and you'll be stuck with a bunch of stuff you can't sell. Watch out for ones that require you to buy a certain amount of products each month too - don't give your credit card info or bank info to them.
