Depending on how many children you have, and how old they are, you might want to look into working at one of the drop in care places (ie..Adventure Kids or Kiddin Around) I worked at a place like that once, and they did not charge me at all for my 2 girls to be with me. They were 2 and 5 at the time. If you a baby, it is more difficult as the ratios are much smaller! I enjoyed that more than working at a day care, as the kids changed more often, I could see what my own kids were doing while they were still learning to listen to other adults, and the schedule was pretty nice too. I was paid $8 per hour, which is not a ton, but with no childcare cost, and the fact that I was only trying to supplement out income it worked. I do know that they paid others with less experience a little less, I have been doing childcare forever it seems like. Good luck to you!! ~A.~
