I care for my granddaughters. My oldest, 12, does not like the psy. she goes to for her ADHD because he is a man (so she says.) So, I told her I would try to find a female doctor that treats ADHD. Any suggestions for the areas of Southlake, Grapevine, Keller, Bedford, or Hurst, TX would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

I have a masters degree in counseling and am very critical of therapists. One of my sons has ADHD and the other, the same without the hyperactive component. I take them to Dr. Susan Gifford. She has a website, her phone number is ###-###-####. B.

Hello C.. My 10 yr. old daughter also has ADHD. Our pediatrician also has her Phd. in child psychology/psychiatry. Anyway we see her for everything from flu to ADHD. The ADHD visit does have to be separate from other visits (ie yearly check-ups, but she prescribes the medication, sends questionnaires to the school, etc. We have been very successful with her recommendations. She has an office in Grapevine and Irving. Dr. Elizabeth Dickey ###-###-####.

Best of luck to you and your granddaughter.
