I recently had the motor in my car window repaired. I took it to a Firestone shop in Midlothian. (I live in Arlington, but it isn't too far away!) Their prices are very inexpensive, and I have a sports car that isn't being produced anymore.
My window stopped working, I have an automatic window and it slowly died. Now its cracked because it died in the middle of me putting it up. I'm sure its the motor or whatever but I need of a good cheap place to get it fixed at. I have no idea where to even go. Please help.

My window died 1 year ago and we went to the junk yard you can find there the motor and install by yourself is easy just look at the one in your car and put the "new" one exactly and you can find there the window and is pretty cheap

My cousin went to a junk yard and replaced her window herself. She said the window was like $25.00. As far as having a motor put in I would check with Total Car Care in North Richland Hills if you are close by. I broke my mirror pulling into the garage and Toyota was going to charge me 380 and he only charged $225 and did a great job. Very reasonable and nice man(Jackie) there.

We took ours to Binswanger glass co. who ordered that little motor and fixed it in about an hour (with an appointment). It beat the cost of any car place.
HI C.,
Here is another very good and honest auto repair shop that I can recommend. Don't know where you're located but the owner is great, Howard (30+yrs exp)and the mechanic (20+yrs exp)
is awesome. Prices are very reasonable, dealers are way to expensive.

I don't know about trying to do it yourself. Just getting the door panel off can be tricky depending on what kind of car you have. You could get your own parts and take them to the mechanic which would be cheaper, they just won't warranty it. That might be a good idea to at least get the window from a junk yard. I've had to do that and it was much cheaper than buying new. My Gma's window motor went bad on her Maxima and she got jerked around so bad by the dealer. Apparently, not even their mechanics knew how to install it properly.
Good Luck!
Let us know how it goes!

Texas Auto Service on Davis Blvd near 1709. Not sure if the address is Keller or Southlake. Very honest and much cheaper than a dealership. Ask for Clinton or Tim.
Good luck!

try a window tinting place.
Hi C.. My car did this not too long ago. We ended up taking it to the Acura dealership and after they told us it was going to cost us about $300.00, we decided to go another route. We knew all they were charging us for was labor mostly. It was just the little motor inside the door and we found a place online that we bought the part from and my husband installed it in a couple of hours. He's no mechanic by any means. The website is http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/
I don't know if they sell the glass part too, but you could check. Hope this helps! I hate taking my car to repair shops. They rip you off.
Good luck!
