We have the basic wii, and up to 4 can play many of the games as long as you have enough controllers. It says on the games how many can play. We love Mario cart racing and star wars Lego adventure!
If we invest in a Wii system, can 2 or 3 play at the same time? what should we look for? I think the WIiiMotion plus is the one we want, but I am not sure. We want it for a disabled person and his child to be able to play sports and exercise if that will work. Thanks for your help.

Most games allow up to 4 players. It's more convenient to have more than O. remote, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary--you'd just have to pass the remote t the next player if you only have O....or two. I'd defiitely get a 2nd remote for convenience, but you don't really need 3 or 4.
The wii is great, but I would suggest the Xbox360 Kinect. You don't need any controllers to play that (aside from the one to control the xbox) and the game is calibrated much better than the wii. I've played both and we ended up getting the kinect instead.
if you want the wii, you need 2 controllers, then the nunchucks if needed for some games.
The Wii fit is a lot of fun and you really get a good workout without feeling like you are working that hard. It really just depends on the disability of the person you are buying it for. As for how many people can play, it depends on the game, but most games can support up to 4 players. You may have to buy multiple remotes and nunchuks, so that is also something to look at. Hope this helps.
The basic system comes with only one remote. You will need 1-2 more remotes plus the numchucks (sold separtely). Wii Play ussually comes with a remote and costs about the same as just the remote. As far as games go - it mostly depends on interests and skill ability. I always suggest renting games before buying as they can be expensive. The system will com with Wii Sports which it good for learning howt o use the remotes, Wii Resort is also good for keeping moving.
There are some games that you have to all use the controllers at the same time. In these cases you would need a controller for each. I am pretty sure it shows you on the back of each game. There should be a picture of how many and what items you need for that game. Sorry, that is about all i know. My husband and kiddies are more into the wii than i am :)
