I got the book when I was in high school. I think it was a joke. Everyone in every high school was in it.
My daughter was nominated for the Who's Who Among American High School Students last year. I paid for the book in April of 09. I was told I would receive the book by late Jan 2010. Still have not received the book. After dozens of attempts to contact the company, I filed a complaint with the BBB. They also had no luck. Now I have a complaint filed with the Federal Trade Commission. I am so frustrated with this whole situation! I would like to know if anyone has ever actually received this publication, or is it a scam?

They send out invites to just about everyone. They even send it to businesses and Dr's. You can sign up for this and buy your own trophy or plaque. You basically paid to have your child's name in a book. I don't think it means anything. Sorry you got fooled...
Way back when, I was nominated as well. I did receive the book, but I don't know how long it took to get it.
Not sure if it's a scam, but they nominate just about anyone. I remember this from back in the 80s. They just want to sell you the book.
I found a website that says Who's Who hasn't been published since 2007.

I remember being "nominated", but I couldn't afford it and kind of thought it was a scam to get money. My husband's book is in the office. I don't know about anything current. Can you contact your credit card company?
I'm not sure if it's a scam but I remember being nominated for this back when I was in high school. If I remember correctly, I did order the book and I got it...
I think you already know your answer. It is a scam
I was nominated as well. We did not purchase the book becuase everyone was nominated. It is an oppotunity to buy yourself some recognition that you don't actually get except for being scammed.
Sorry
My parents bought that book when I was supposedly in it 20 years ago. They never received one.
I was in the college version, I never ordered the book but saw it when my college got the book. I didn't think it was a big deal but put in on my resume anyways :) Good luck getting the book.
It's a scam. It was a scam 30 years ago when I was in it (don't remember receiving the book) and now you can buy trophies and plaques and posters and mugs and all sorts of things with your name on it. I think pretty much everybody gets an invite to be in it. When I was in high school everybody did, and in college, everybody I knew did too. I would continue to try to get what you ordered though! What a rip off!
I ordered it in 2010 as well and never received it. I contacted the BBB and they said that they though they had closed their doors. I filed a complaint as well and never heard anything. I occasionally look online for a class action law suit and your post here was the only thing that came up. I guess we got taken.
Apparently at least 68 others filed a complaint as well. Here is the link: http://www.bbb.org/washington-dc-eastern-pa/business-revi...
My senior year I was offerd to be in this book, wondering how since I was as pretty close to not graduating for my grades as I was to flunking, my mom was so proud id been nominated. She bought the book and we did receive our copy. It is such a scam, I actually had it on my resume for awhile and one college admissions person said whats that? Then she realized I had fallen for the hoax and told me it meant nothing at all, that was kinda ill feeling that my mom convinced me I was someone. The company is no longer in business and that is prolly a reason why you have not got a reply from them. sorry bout your luck...
