Minky with cotton or flannel. I have made these and I much prefer them to the embellished prefold ones. They are so much more absorbent, softer and cuter.... and they sell better.
Prefold Cotton Cloth Diapers plain or spiced up with fabric centers or Minky with patterned Cotton?
I have my own sewing business and I'm trying to add new products but practical ones that Mom's actually use and love. I had just the plain old white cloth diapers when my youngest was little (back before the sewing business) and I have sold quite a few of those personalized with patterned cotton center panels. I want to stay with the times and cater to a broad spectrum though.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Added: I do currently add an initial to the cotton center panel in a fun accent color. I do love how this looks. Now that my youngest is 2 I went back and added the personalized center panel to a few of his and he loves to carry them around as blankies. So cute. I love all of the ideas so far, keep them coming mommas.

I LOVE some large flannel burp cloths that were given to me. They are much larger than cloth diapers, very absorbent and so much easier to find when caught up in blankets, on the couch, in the car etc...
we used receiving blankets as burpclothes and swaddlers. I liked the fleece ones as they had more give. the waffled ones were good too, but the flannel ones seemed to do the best at wiping up spit.
I got gifted mine at my baby shower. they were standard issue, came in multi packs and had small prints on them, like bees, pull toys, puppies, flowers, etc.
Never thought they might be personalized. Clever idea.
My mom sews too....she decorated up the cloth diapers. My mom embroidered designs at the bottom of one of the ends. LOVED them! In fact I just asked her to make me some for my friends shower.
I got so bored with the plain white diapers, but they did work the best! I'd love them with colorful cotton centers or borders. Minky edges would be nice too.
I agree with MzKitty -- personalization is the hot thing now so if you can sew letters or names on them, that would probably be a hit.
My kids are 12 and 9 now but I loved that for my shower my friend who was very crafty, hand painted a bunch of the white cloth diapers for me to use as burp cloths. I loved them! So I'm kind of out of the loop since my kids are older but I think it would be popular and hot sellers if you personalized them. Good luck!!!
Definitely cloth diapers, they absorb the best. This comes from a mom of 3 - 2 who had acid reflux!!
